New Delhi: JK Paper Ltd has spent Rs 3.35 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during FY 2018-19, which is less than the prescribed CSR budget of Rs 4.75 crore.
The company states that an outlay of Rs 56 lakhs provided for Solar Irrigation at 10 sites in Rayagada has not been taken as spent since the boring at the sites encountered rocky terrain, the work therefore could not be completed before 31 Mar, 2019 and all sites got operational by 30th June 2019.
A partnership project with an outlay of Rs 24 lakhs with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on women enterprise development has been deferred to next year as the Self Help Groups (SHGs) were identified with inadequate capability and needed capacity building training on enterprise development.
However, the company is engaged in community strengthening CSR initiatives to benefit farmers, youth and women in the realms of education, healthcare, livelihood and rural infrastructural development which served 60 thousand beneficiaries during the year.
The CSR committee confirms that the implementation and monitoring of CSR policy, is in compliance with CSR objectives and policy of the company.
