ANGUL (India CSR): Jindal Steel, Angul, paid heartfelt tribute to its visionary founder, Om Prakash Jindal (Bauji), on the occasion of his 95th birth anniversary. Commemorative events were held across the Angul plant and township, celebrating Bauji’s enduring legacy of nation-building through industrial self-reliance.
Promoting Employee Wellness
Marking the day with significant inaugurations, Chairman Naveen Jindal dedicated a newly developed Swimming Pool at Jindal Nagar to promote health and fitness among employees and their families. Addressing the gathering, Jindal encouraged employees and their family members to take full advantage of such facilities available in Jindal Nagar to stay fit and healthy, and to “stay away from doctors.”

Honouring Bauji’s Legacy
Remembering his father Naveen Jindal wrote in social media that “Bauji, Om Prakash Jindal, was not only a great industrialist but also a true karmayogi, public servant, social reformer, and a visionary torchbearer of a self-reliant India. His thoughts, values, and principles continue to guide us even today. On his birth anniversary, we offer our heartfelt tributes.”
Advancing Workforce Skills
Commemorating with the occasion Vice-Chairman V. R. Sharma inaugurated the Naveen Jindal Skill Centre for Advanced Welding Technology, aimed at up-skilling the company’s workforce in line with current market standards. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma said, “Today, the O.P. Jindal Group is manufacturing around 40% of India’s steel and has provided employment to nearly 4 to 5 lakh people, both directly and indirectly. This has all been possible because of Bauji, who dreamt of a self-reliant India.”

Community Pays Tribute
On this occasion, Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director In-Charge of Angul Location, and Damodar Mittal, Executive Director – Projects, along with all HoDs, employees with their families, and villagers from nearby areas, gathered in large numbers to pay tribute to the Man of Steel.
Football Tournament Launch
In the afternoon, the much-anticipated district-level O.P. Jindal Cup Football Tournament was inaugurated at Kadam Padia, Angul. The opening ceremony was graced by Akshaya Kumar Samant, Chairman, Angul Municipality as chief guest Pratap Preetimay, ADM, Angul and Atul Dubey, President, Jindal Steel, Angul as guest of Honour.
Supporting Senior Citizens
Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, the Jindal Foundation also distributed dry ration kits to several Senior Citizen Homes across the district as part of the day’s activities.

Students Offer Tribute
On the educational front, students and teachers of O.P. Jindal School and DAV Savitri Jindal School held mass prayers and a Hawan to offer a spiritual tribute to Bauji.
