Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had said that “sanitation is more important than independence”. His words appear more relevant in today’s world, which has been ravaged by the Coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed millions of lives.
Jaipur based Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University has also tried to follow the Mahatma’s footsteps and turn our prime minister’s dream into a reality by making sure that its campus remained green and clean and also that the wastes were recycled or reused. In fact, the University has coined the term ‘Punar Janam’ (re-birth) that signifies the way the University manages the waste. The formula is simple. Manage the wastes in such a way that results in rebirth of the waste material in a usable form. In other words, it means ‘Ready to serve again’.
