RAIPUR, CHHATTISGARH (India CSR): A major Income Tax (IT) raid is underway in Chhattisgarh, targeting Jai Ambe Emergency Services (JAES), the company responsible for operating the 108 ambulance service in the state. The company’s head office in Avanti Vihar, Raipur, is currently under scrutiny, with a team of 8 to 10 IT officials conducting an extensive search of financial documents, records, and electronic devices.

The operation has created a wave of panic in the region, as the IT department investigates suspected tax evasion and financial irregularities linked to the company’s top executives.

Multi-State Investigation Expands Scope

According to reliable sources, the IT department is simultaneously conducting raids at multiple locations, including properties associated with Dharmendra Singh, the director of JAES, and his close associates. These operations are not limited to Chhattisgarh; authorities have also expanded their search to Madhya Pradesh.

The key focus of the investigation is to uncover potential large-scale tax evasion and suspicious financial transactions related to the company’s business dealings, particularly in land acquisitions and sales.

Tax Evasion Allegations and Land Deals Under Scanner

Preliminary reports suggest that JAES has been involved in significant land transactions. The authorities suspect that these deals may have been conducted using unreported income, leading to potential tax evasion on a large scale.

Additionally, complaints have been raised regarding financial discrepancies in the company’s tax filings, prompting the IT department to verify records, analyze financial trails, and gather concrete evidence of any malpractice.

Seizure of Key Financial Records and Digital Evidence

The ongoing raid involves a meticulous examination of the company’s financial data. IT officials are currently:

  • Scanning financial records, tax filings, and invoices
  • Extracting data from computers and other digital devices
  • Verifying transactions related to land deals and financial assets

Sources indicate that authorities are also investigating possible links to other business entities and individuals who may have been involved in suspicious financial activities.

Impact and Legal Consequences

If the allegations of tax evasion and financial mismanagement are proven, JAES and its leadership could face serious legal consequences, including hefty penalties, tax recoveries, and potential criminal proceedings under the Income Tax Act.

For now, IT officials remain tight-lipped about their findings, but as the investigation progresses, more details are expected to emerge.

Public Concerns Over Ambulance Services

The raid has also sparked concerns among the public regarding the continuity of the 108 ambulance services, which play a crucial role in emergency healthcare. While authorities have assured that the services will not be disrupted, the investigation raises serious questions about transparency and accountability in the management of essential public health services.
