NEW DELHI: Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule A, Public Sector Enterprises has always come forward to help the society with its CSR initiatives. IRCON is always committed to nation-building and societal development.
When the whole world is facing COVID-19 pandemic situation, IRCON came forward and supported COVID -19 vaccination programme of Government of India by adding the cold chain equipment infrastructure required for vaccination of the people across the country.
IRCON has supplied total number of 44 deep freezer (small) and 1 walk in freezer to the Department of Family and welfare at Delhi for the enhancement of the medical services. Earlier, IRCON had also contributed Rs.20.50 crore (including employees’ contribution of Rs.51 Lakh) to PM-CARES Fund to support the Government of India in fighting COVID-19.
IRCON had already contributed Rs.20 Crores in 2020 & 2021 in PM CARES Fund to support the Government of India in fighting COVID-19.
IRCON, has always taken initiative through various CSR activities in the improvement of rural infrastructures, transportation facilities, health care of underprivileged sections of the society which encompasses education, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities in schools as well as in hospitals or adoption of environment-friendly technologies, etc.
Under its CSR initiatives, during the year 2020-21, Ircon has set up 3 sanitary napkin manufacturing units in the Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir, Ranchi district of Jharkhand, and Nuapada district of Odisha. The Company has funded education for 100 Tribal students at Kalinga Institute of Social Science School in Bhubaneswar Orissa.
Rooh is another initiative to educate the women of rural areas and empower them with skill training which enabled them to lead a life with confidence and at par. Ircon also developed a training center for 240 underprivileged women in Ghaziabad for imparting skill development in Cutting & Tailoring, Beauty Culture and Computer Operation so that they can become employable and income generators and lead a better life. These initiatives helped in generating income and improving health and hygiene of rural women and also helped the trainees in enhancing the soft skills and entrepreneurship.
