IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd, a leading road and highway developing company, is recognized for executing complex projects across difficult terrains well before the allotted time. Led by Virendra D Mhaiskar, the company boasts of a largest BOT/HAM project portfolio in the country, with a cumulative length of 12,800 kms.

Established in 1998, IRB Infrastructure was instrumental in developing the country’s first BOT project. It also played a key role in construction of the country’s most prestigious ‘Golden Quadrilateral Project’. IRB Infra is also the first company in India to set up an Infrastructure Investment Trust.

However, IRB Infrastructure is not only renowned for building quality roads. It has been working for developing community initiatives as well. Over the years, the company has been determined to fulfill its responsibility towards the society.

It has framed a comprehensive plan to ensure development of the unprivileged sections of the society by providing basic education, medical support and donating funds for special purposes to empower communities.

IRB Infrastructure has setup two model primary schools in Rajasthan and Punjab. These schools provide free education from pre-primary levels to Class VIII. The company also provides uniforms and books to the unprivileged students and undertakes a comprehensive learning program focused on all-round development of children.

One of the key achievements for these schools has been the promotion of girl child education in backward areas of Rajasthan and Punjab.

As on March 31, 2019, there were 510 students in these two schools, 300 in Rajasthan and 210 in Punjab. Out of the 300 students in Rajasthan, 166 were girls. On the other hand, there were 123 girls among 210 students in Punjab. Both these schools use modern teaching aids and offers an ideal teacher-student ratio of 1:27, which is reflected in the board examination results.

Headed by Virendra D Mhaiskar, IRB Infrastructure also provides merit-based scholarship by donating funds to the educational and social institutes to promote education.

Other than working for the promotion of education, the company also comes up with various healthcare initiatives to focus on the welfare of the employees and their families at the time of need, ensuring constant support to them.

IRB also extends financial aid by introducing medical insurance schemes for the employees and bears the premium of the same.

IRB Infra has offered state-of-the-art mobile diagnostic center for cancer screening, mammography and vision restoration in the rural areas of Thane district.

Additionally, the company contributes for the provision of sanitation facilities by focusing on promoting health and hygiene as an initiative towards preventive healthcare as well. It also provides funds to various institutions offering primary and advanced healthcare facilities to the public.

Apart from education and healthcare, IRB Infrastructure focuses on promoting talented sports personals and artists by offering financial aid to them.

The company organizes annual calendars, whereby original paintings of artists from Sir J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai are sold at private auctions. The fund raised from the auction is used for promoting upcoming talented artists.

IRB Infra has also contributed towards the chief minister’s drought relief fund in Maharashtra. It has supported community development projects like building girls’ toilets in municipal school in Thane.

Paving the way for a better society and a country at large, IRB Infrastructure has been uplifting the societies by going beyond its corporate social responsibility. Under the able leadership of Virendra D Mhaiskar, the company is determined to continue in the same direction and make this world a better place to live in.
