SAMBALPUR: As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme focused on women empowerment, Hindalco Hirakud a unit of Aditya Birla Group distributed four numbers of Flour Grinding and production units along with all accessories to four different women SHGs of Sambalpur involved in production and supply of mixed grain nutritious flour (sattu) to women and children beneficiaries under Govt ICDS project.
In a function held today at the District collectorate premises, representatives of the Sanskar SHG Hirakud, Binapani SHG Gopalpali, Mahalaxmi SHG Naxapali and Maamangala SHG Hirakud received the equipments from Dr Raseswari Panigrahi MLA Sambalpur in presence of Balwant Singh outgoing collector Sambalpur, Samarth Verma, Collector Sambalpur; Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Head Hindalco Hirakud Location; Nirmal Sinha, Head HR Hirakud; Shivanand Mohanty, Head, External Affairs Hindalco.
Speaking to the SHG members during the occasion, the guests highlighted on the benefits of having own manufacturing units that would increase their project effectiveness and further the cause of women and children who are the direct beneficiaries of nutritious flour project running in Sambalpur under ICDS.
Among others present during the occasion were JP Nayak Head Hirakud Smelter, Rakesh Gupta Head Power, Sandip Roy Head Hindalco FRP, members of Hindalco CSR team, Jagdish Mishra , Santosh Tripathy, Bramha, Jayashree, Pravasini Nayak District Social Welfare officer, Jhunu Swain ICDS officer, Anuradha Mohanty CDPO Dhankauda block, Gitanjali Mohapatra CDPO sadar and other members of SHGs.
