NEW DELHI: Felicitation of HCL Power of One Volunteers at the Power of One Carnival held at the Noida SEZ campus of HCL Technologies.
Present at the event were Roshni Nadar Malhotra Executive Director & CEO, HCL Corporation, Director, HCL Technologies, Trustee, Shiv Nadar Foundation, District Magistrate (DM) of Gautam Budh Nagar Brajesh Narain Singh, Preeti Bala Gupta, SP Crime, Noida and Nidhi Pundhir, Director, CSR Head, HCL Foundation.
Power of One ensures active and regular financial support and participation by HCL employees in humanitarian and developmental projects. It enables them to act on issues they care about and become valuable agents of change in making the communities where they live and work a better place.
The carnival was a celebration of the unique employee volunteering and payroll giving initiative of HCL – The Power of One. Focused at promoting positivity and togetherness in the work space, this initiative aims at strengthening the corpus, used for awarding scholarships to the meritorious students from economically challenged backgrounds.
Employees of HCL contribute one rupee per day to this corpus. The programme also encourages employees to volunteer and engage in community service projects.
The carnival was a fun-filled day with varied cultural performances and activities led by children from HCL Foundation’s project locations, stalls by NGO partners, experiential workshops, various engagement activities, music & dance.
As part of the carnival, employee volunteers were recognised and rewarded for their contributions of time and monetary commitment. During the Scholarship Ceremony under the ‘My Scholar Program’, 72 scholarships were awarded in the presence of their families.
Through the Carnival, HCL Foundation showcased the work carried out in the community engagement programmes through posters, nukkad nataks, flash mobs, exhibits, working models of projects undertaken.
Stalls were set up for all participating NGOs to display their work. A special display corner too was set-up for the students where they could display their science models and art and craft exhibits. A talent corner too was set-up where employees and selected students from centres could display their skills via theatre, dancing, singing and other avenues.
