RAIPUR: The Indian Centre for CSR (ICCSR) has collaborated with University of Applied Sciences, Vienna, Austria to offer India’s first MS Program in CSR & Ethical Management. The Global Master of Sciences in CSR & Ethical Management, which is designed to put executive careers on the fast track and to teach working professionals how to generate fresh ideas on building sustainable business.  First Batch of programme has started already. The study centre of the ICCSR MS Programme is located in Navi Mumbai.

Master of Science (MS in CSR and Ethical Management) is available for full time students and working professional and working Professionals (Distance Learning).

The program will help fill the gap that exists in the country for trained CSR Managers in the corporate India. The flavor of the programme is international in nature and the University does all the evaluations centrally. The faculty consists of both international and Indian professors and corporate professionals.

According to recent media report, compulsory corporate social responsibility is likely to increase the demand for professionals in this field by as much as 50% in the coming years and the industry is likely to see at least 50,000 more job opportunities in the CSR sector.

Globally,Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) has evolved from a buzzword to standard business practice and organization are integrating CSR in the core business strategic. It has said that CSR can become a key differentiator as hard core business practice for firms and can lead to improved profitability and sustainability.

With passing of New Company Bill, ICCSR was inundated with request to provide professionals who are trained in the field of CSR. Hence, it has collaborated with Star Rated University of Europe- University of Applied Sciences, Vienna, to start one of its kind programs taught by the Global Faculty. The program is uniquely designed to cater to the requirements of working professionals as well as full time students who wish to pursue their dream of working for benefit of People, Planet & Society.

Key faculty are Martin Neureiter, chairman of ISO 26000 the guiding standard for CSR and the most celebrated CSR speaker and writer; Tobias Webbs, chairman of Ethical Corporation who has earlier advised Government of UK, France and Germany in CSR policy; Dr. Michael Hopkins, PhD in Economics and has worked with IBM, ITT, the United Nations, the World Bank, Oxford, Harvard, Middlesex, Geneva, GMU, Brunel; Irene Daskalakis, World’s most acknowledged legal luminary in the field of CSR and advises fortune 500 companies in CSR & Sustainability and YannQueinnec.

The program also features the cutting-edge innovative curriculum, which is supported by University of Applied Sciences’ distinctive attitude towards quality education.

Martin Neureiter, Program Director said, “This class has unique mix of talent with many of them having excelled in their respective fields. I am sure these students will be the change agents and apply knowledge to address an actual company’s challenge of sustainability.”

Martin Neureiter further said, “The curriculum directly mirrors our existing on-campus program and will be taught by the best of the faculty. Students will be able to complete the option in one year full time and two years part time, the same as on-the-ground students at Vienna.”

“We are inundated with requests from companies to start a well rounded CSR program in India. As government makes CSR and sustainability reporting mandatory for all companies, there is dearth of trained professionals. This program will try to fill this gap”, said Dr Rajesh Tiwari, CEO and Founder of Indian Centre for CSR.

The students will receive a MBA at a fully accredited, internationally recognized University. The dregree will prepare managers for responsible business practice that is values-centered, global in orientation and entrepreneurial in spirit.

In launching an MS Program in CSR & Ethical Management, the Indian Centre for CSR seeks to create the world’s best values-centered CSR professionals. The program expands the opportunity to bring talented, engaged, highly qualified professionals into the CSR community who might not have been able to pursue such an program due to unavailability in India.
