NEW DELHI: Indian businessman Gautam Adani has experienced a significant decrease in his wealth, dropping from being the third richest person in the world at the beginning of the year to the 21st richest. This decline can be attributed to a negative report from Hindenburg Research, which caused Adani to lose $60 billion. Adani’s current net worth is estimated at $61 billion, down from his peak of $150 billion in September.
The shake-up in the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index was caused by Adani’s fall from grace, as well as the overall surge in the stock market, particularly in tech stocks. This surge has created wealth for tech industry leaders such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
According to data from Bloomberg, the top five wealthiest people in the world currently are Bernard Arnault, worth $193 billion, followed by Elon Musk with a net worth of $174 billion, Jeff Bezos with $136 billion, Bill Gates with $115 billion, and Warren Buffett with $108 billion.
These individuals have seen positive changes in their wealth, with Arnault experiencing a $30.7 billion increase year-to-date, Elon Musk with a $36.5 billion increase, Jeff Bezos with a $29.3 billion increase, Bill Gates with a $1.1 billion increase, and Warren Buffett with a $1 billion increase.
