MUMBAI: It is truly said that a man’s finest hour is the moment when he has worked his heart out for a good cause. One such personality to be recognized for his contribution for social cause is Dr. Huz (Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala). The Trustee and CEO of Wockhardt Foundation, Dr. Huz was unanimously awarded as ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2015’ at the 8th Annual Pharmaceutical Leadership Summit & Pharma Leaders Business Leadership Awards 2015.
The award was presented by Pharma leaders, Asia’s largest media in healthcare communications in association with Network7 Media Group. He was felicitated with the prestigious award for the continued commitment to improve the standard of living of socially marginalized sections of society.
Like every year, the organizers undertook the gigantic task of identifying the Leaders in healthcare innovations. A team of Pharma Leaders analysts and industry experts analysed work by social reformers and innovators achieving dual excellence in Program value and Growth Success. The search finally ended and the jury finalized Dr. Huz.
The jury opined that Dr. Huz, not only had a vision for a high quality total NGO experience, but he used those insights to achieve growth above the normal average. With his dedication, commitment and innovative spirit of Leadership, he has infused the social sectors in India with innovative and path-breaking programs and the success of the Foundation has helped fuel the growth engine. Through his continued dedication, the standards of living of socially marginalized sections of the society have improved, especially the healthcare standards.
