HOSUR, TAMIL NADU (India CSR): Uno Minda’s philanthropic and CSR arm Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, which works under the thematic areas of Education, Skill Development, Preventive and Curative healthcare, and community development and wellbeing, is proud inaugurate a new school in Poonapalli village, Hosur, Tamil Nadu under the name “The Suman Nirmal Minda School”. The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, government officials, and Uno Minda’s senior management.
Campus and Initial Offerings
The school will have state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure spread across its huge campus of 7.5 acres. Initially, the school will offer classes from Nursery to 4th Standard, with plans to open admission for higher classes, gradually. Consequently, the inaugural year’s capacity is set at 350 students with aim to expand its capacity to 1500 students in the future. The school will offer a subsidized fee structure to ensure accessibility for underprivileged families.
Collaboration and Educational Focus
Uno Minda, in collaboration with the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, will oversee the school’s operations. Suman Nirmal Minda School is an English medium co-educational institution with planned affiliation with CBSE. The school prioritizes holistic education, fostering both academic excellence and the development of students’ talents through activity-based, discovery-oriented, and exploratory methods tailored to their individual needs.
Expansion Strategy
Uno Minda aims to open one school (1500 seats) in each geography, where they have substantial presence, for the underprivileged. In view of the same, we are already operating senior secondary school with a capacity of ~ 1500 Children at kadi Gujarat since 2019 and Moga Devi Minda Memorial School (MDMMS) at Bagla, Hisar, Haryana since 2010. The newly inaugrated school at Hosur will be our third full-fledged school.

Community Impact and CSR Initiatives
Uno Minda, through its CSR initiatives, has been running 17 Samarth Jyoti centers across the country under the leadership of Mrs. Suman Nirmal Minda. The centers manage multiple community-centric programs that help improve education, and offer vocational training, preventive and curative healthcare, and foster community wellbeing and development.
A self-help group supported under the aegis of Samarth Jyoti has played a part in making many women into entrepreneurs, thereby helping them attain financial independent.
The group also runs a multi-speciality hospital and two schools for communities in the country and runs community-centric programs at international locations too. The CSR arm has positively impacted lives of more than 2.5 lakhs beneficiaries.
