PDS Limited demonstrates exceptional commitment to social responsibility, exceeding statutory requirements in CSR spending to foster sustainable community development.
NEW DELHI (India CSR Exclusive): PDS Limited, formerly known as PDS Multinational Fashions Limited, has shown its commitment to community development and sustainability by spending beyond its statutory Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations during the financial year 2021-2022. The company’s CSR report, annexed as Annexure-4, shows that the multinational has spent over two percent of its average net profit from the last three fiscal years on CSR initiatives.
PDS Limited is a multinational company committed to sustainable business practices and community development. The company supports initiatives in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability, primarily through the Soham for Kids Education Society.
This exceeds the mandated CSR spending under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. The company’s CSR initiatives have been primarily executed via the Soham for Kids Education Society, an organization aimed at promoting education.
The Bengaluru-based PDS Limited’s CSR policy, available on their company website, outlines their approach towards sustainable business practices that address economic, environmental, and social imperatives. While the company’s CSR is not confined to philanthropy, it includes comprehensive community development, institution-building, and sustainability-related initiatives.
In the 2021-2022 financial year, PDS Limited had a CSR obligation of Rs. 6,99,273. However, the company spent a total of Rs. 7,90,000, significantly more than the mandated amount. This expenditure equates to 2% of the company’s average profit after tax over the past three years.
The company has prioritized areas such as education, healthcare, woman empowerment, and environmental sustainability in its CSR activities. The entire amount of Rs. 7.90 lakh was spent as a contribution to the Soham Foundation, aimed at educating children.
Furthermore, the company has also undertaken CSR initiatives outside of India, reinforcing their commitment to community development and sustainability on a global scale. These initiatives are over and above the statutory requirement of the company.
PDS Limited continues to lead by example in its commitment to making the planet a better place for future generations through its dedicated CSR policy and actions.
