Digital Therapeutics Transforming Cancer Rehabilitation
For cancer patients experiencing chronic pain, neuropathy, fatigue, or limited mobility, VR-based therapeutic exercises can significantly reduce discomfort, improve functional movement, and boost emotional well-being. Multiple studies have confirmed that VR has the potential to be an effective and important tool in the oncologic treatment of children, reducing and better managing the main factors of psychophysical distress related to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The system’s real-time analytics and adaptive difficulty levels help therapists continuously customize programs to each patient’s needs, improving adherence and accelerating recovery. By reducing therapy fatigue and empowering patients through interaction and play, the technology represents a paradigm shift in cancer rehabilitation.
Rewin Health’s platform integrates AI-driven motion tracking with immersive VR environments to create a personalized, engaging, and gamified rehabilitation journey.
Speaking at the event, Vijay Karunakaran, Founder & CEO of Rewin Health, said, “Our collaboration with Adyar Cancer Institute is a deeply meaningful step toward democratizing access to advanced rehabilitation in India. Cancer patients often endure significant physical and emotional pain, and we believe technology can play a transformative role in easing that journey. By integrating AI and VR into routine care, we aim to make therapy more engaging, more effective, and above all—more humane. We are honored to support an institution that has shaped cancer care in India for decades.”
“This contribution from Rewin Health brings an innovative, patient-centric tool into our rehabilitationprogram. VR-based therapy has shown great promise in reducing pain perception and improving mobility. We look forward to integrating this platform to enhance outcomes and provide cancer survivors with better support during recovery.”Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan, Director and CEO of the Adyar Cancer Institute, added.
