Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta and Varinder Gupta, who got the centre established as a tribute to their father NC Gupta, inaugurated it. Rajinder Gupta appreciated the treatment and care given to his father by the team of doctors and nurses at the cardiology department of CMC Hospital.
Dr Rajneesh Calton, professor and head of the cardiology department at CMC Hospital, informed that the centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including, a colour doppler echocardiography machine with 2D and 3D imaging facilities for adult and paediatric patients. It also has a wireless treadmill machine, holter recorders, ambulatory blood pressure recorders, and 15-lead electrocardiography machines, he added.
Nohar Chand Gupta Memorial, a non-invasive cardiology centre, was inaugurated at the department of cardiology of Christian Medical College and Hospital on Saturday.
On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary Nohar Chand Gupta on October 2nd “N C Gupta Memorial Non-invasive Cardiology Centre” was inaugurated at the Department of Cardiology at Christian Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana, Punjab.
Present on the occasion were his sons, Rajinder Gupta, Chairman of Trident Group of Industries and Varinder Gupta, Managing Director, IOL Group of Industries alongwith families and dignitaries from CMC & H Ludhiana including Dr.William Bhatti -Director, Dr. Jayaraj Pandian -Principal, Dr.Rajneesh Calton – Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology, CMC and all the senior faculty members, staff and students.
Fondly remembering his father Nohar Chand Gupta “Bau Ji”, Rajinder Gupta, said that Bau Ji had the treatment for his heart ailment at the Dr. Rajneesh Caltonat Christian Medical College and was very fond of the Doctors and the staff attending on him.

The advance Non-invasive Cardiac center is equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment including the latest Philips Epiq CVx Colour Doppler Echocardiography machine with 2D and 3D imaging facilities for both adult and pediatric patient’s .The center also includes the wireless Treadmill machine, Holter recorders, Ambulatory Blood Pressure recorders and 15-Lead Electrocardiography machines. Dr. Rajneesh Calton, Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology at CMC Ludhiana informed that the facilities available at the center are at par with any world class center.
Intensive Coronary Care Unit
It is pertinent to mention here that Rajinder Gupta has also been instrumental in establishing CMC Ludhiana as a tele-consultation center with Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. CMC Ludhiana has been actively participating in the Cleveland Clinic tele-consultation programs for the last one year. The Cleveland Clinic with the Trident group is also planning to add another state-of-the-art Intensive Coronary Care Unit at the Department of Cardiology at CMC Ludhiana for treatment of patients with acute cardiac problems.
