In the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, during second wave NTPC Korba situated in state Chhattisgarh under the aegis of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Development (CSR-CD) donated 2500 kits of Corona preventive medicine, 500 kits of Corona treatment medicine and 6000 cloth masks to district administration to distribute among people of nearby villages.
In addition to this 50 pulse oxymeters were also provided by Maitri Mahila Samiti, the ladies welfare association of NTPC Korba to assess oxygen saturation among patients to judge the criticality of corona in the remote villages. In a simple programme Smt Nibedita Basu, President, Maitri Mahila Samiti along with Dr. Pratima Mahendra, Sr. Specialist (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) donated these items to Shri Sonu Agrawal, Tehsildar, Darri on 21st May 2021.
Being in the business of essential services, all efforts are being taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Chhattisgarh as well as beneficiary states of Korba project. At this crucial time NTPC Korba recorded as the highest electricity generating station of NTPC in this financial year 2021-22, till date it has recorded 3129.83 million units with 98.35 percent PLF.
Besides maintaining Covid appropriate behaviour at workplace, Covid task Force and 24 hour Covid care control room has been established to monitor patient’s health need and to ensure all necessary arrangements.
Precautionary measures like sanitization of township and nearby villages has been doing periodically. Messages on Covid appropriate behaviour and dos and don’ts against corona has been displayed at different locations and large LCD display.
NTPC Korba in association with district administration, door to door survey has been done to make the data base and health status of township residents and precautionary measures are given by the paramedical staffs to maintain their good health.
Besides being self reliant to handle the situation, NTPC Korba is facilitating all possible support to district administration to deal with this pandemic by providing oxygen cylinder, corona preventive and cure medicine, oxymeter, mask and financial assistance for making of different work and activities to combat Covid 19.
