CHENNAI: Corporate Social Responsibility is now becoming synonymous with saving the environment and society as a whole, said Venkatrama Raja, Vice Chairman, Ramco Systems at the Rotary Club of Madras East Corporate Citizen Award on June 10.
 “CSR was spoken about by Thiruvalluvar 2000 years ago as a means of doing good unto others, and now corporates are waking up to the concept, where helping marginalized people will help bring in social capital which is now required for companies growth in this modern age” said PC Doraisamy, Founder of Sakthi Masala and recipient of the Corporate Citizen Award this year.
Doraisamy credited his enduring success to the simple business practices and honesty that has kept the company on top in competitive times, The award was presented by Venkatrama Raju in the presence of CK Ranganathan and President of Rotary Club of Madras East VGP Ravidas. CK Ranganathan of Cavin Kare wished Doraisamy well on his success.
