HCL Foundation, which is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of IT major HCL Technology, has invested more than Rs. 195 crores in various community projects during FY 2020-21. Rs. 94 Cr spent in Urban and Rs. 101 Cr spent in Rural geographies.
The foundation is working in over 21 states.
This social investment is in accordance with the 2% mandate under Section 135 (5) of the Companies Act, 2013 as applicable to HCL Technologies Limited.
In the past 10 years, the foundation has grossly spent a total of Rs.680 Crores on various social development projects.

The major investments have been made in three main CSR verticals of Samuday, Uday and Grant of the foundation.
Recent HCL Foundation Annual Report informed the Foundation’s outlay had posted 406 percent growth from about Rs. 75 crores in 2016-17 to Rs 195 crore in 2020-22 with a cumulative investment of more than Rs 680 crore to date.
The various activities are undertaken by the Foundation pertaining to the sectors of health, education, Skill Development and Livelihoods, disaster response, Environment, WASH, etc. The foundation claimed that it has benefited 88,969 people through skill development and livelihoods programmes.
