The initiative will not only create awareness about inclusive workplaces but also boost equity and inclusion in society.
The Flipkart Foundation, a part of the Flipkart Group, has collaborated with Mitti Cafe, a chain of cafes that provides training and employment opportunities to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The foundation has supported the set-up cost of a Mitti Cafe in Bengaluru and is also supporting the training of 249 persons with disabilities at its centers in Bengaluru and Kolkata.
Providing Opportunities for Sustainable Livelihoods
The Flipkart Foundation hopes that this partnership would help disabled people gain financial independence and upskilling. The campaign also seeks to raise awareness of accessible workplaces that people with impairments can manage. People with disabilities will run the recently opened Mitti Café in an effort to improve their employment and independence by developing their skills.
Collaboration for Inclusion
Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Flipkart and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Flipkart Foundation, emphasised the foundation’s focus on empowering underprivileged communities and providing them with chances via the development of the necessary knowledge and skills. In this collaboration, which aims to train and create employment opportunities for people with disabilities at the grassroots level, he expressed gratitude for working with Mitti Cafe and Give Foundation.
