HYDERABAD: On 9th January 2023, a panel discussion on “Social Capital of India: How CSR Funds can Boost Rural Livelihoods in India” was held with esteemed panelists including Amarjeet Sinha, IAS(Retd.) Member PSEB and Former Advisor PMO, Anu Mehta, Head of CSR at Honda Cars India Ltd, Rekha Srinivasan, CEO of United Way of Hyderabad, and Rajnikanth Ivaturi, Director of EQUIPPP Social Impact Technologies Ltd.

To address this issue, EQUIPPP held a second panel discussion to discuss how “CSR Funds can Boost Rural Livelihoods in India” with a panel of experts on an online platform, on Monday, i.e., 9th January 2023.
CSR and Government Collaboration: Insights from Amarjeet Sinha IAS (Retd.)
The panel consisted of notable figures in the CSR space, including Amarjeet Sinha IAS (Retd.) Member PSEB, Former Advisor PMO. He has around 4 decades of experience in government, largely in the rural and social sectors. He discussed the importance of collaboration between the professional sector and the government and how CSR can cover up where the government lags.
CSR Strategies and Impact Assessment: Honda Cars India Perspective
The next speaker, Anu Mehta who is the Head of CSR at Honda Cars India Ltd, discussed how Honda has been actively involved in the CSR space, particularly in the areas of education, road safety, environment, and health. She also discussed the importance of a CSR Impact Assessment Study and the role of technology in impact assessment and CSR.
The Role of NPOs, NGOs, and CSRs in Poverty Alleviation and Rural Livelihoods
Rekha Srinivasan, CEO of United Way of Hyderabad and a seasoned professional in the social sector, discussed the role of NPOs and NGOs in poverty alleviation and the impact of CSRs on rural livelihoods. She highlighted United Way’s role as a facilitator and capacity builder between government, donors, and other nonprofits. By analyzing data at a large scale, they are able to assess the impact of their efforts and promote sustainable growth. Ms. Srinivasan also noted the positive developments in donor and beneficiary roles, citing the advancement of Telangana’s education sector through technology and STEM education. She emphasized the importance of scaling efforts and emphasized that experienced CSRs can contribute through their expertise.
