PUNE (India CSR): Bharat Forge Limited, renowned for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in India, is spearheading a monumental project aimed at developing 100 villages across various districts in India.

The CSR projects target five crucial indicators: water availability for agriculture and drinking, livelihood enhancement, internal roads, education, and health, focusing primarily on regions in Satara, Pune, Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, and Osmanabad districts in Maharashtra.
The Lifeline: Water Conservation and Accessibility
Water is the lifeline of any civilization, and Bharat Forge is ensuring its availability through various interventions. The company has embarked on water conservation projects, providing 2,625 TCM of conserved water across the districts, focusing on making water available for agriculture and implementing water pipeline projects for irrigation.
The pipeline project in Kalewadi Village, Pune, for instance, has brought 1,000 acres of land under irrigation, benefiting around 1,500 people.
The use of the energy-efficient siphon method in Belewadi Village, Satara, distributes water from higher-level reservoirs to lower areas, aiding multiple bunds and benefiting the entire village.
Cultivating Progress: Land and Livelihood Enhancement
To empower the agrarian communities, Bharat Forge has initiated land leveling in Ambegaon, Pune, converting 230 acres of barren land into cultivable areas and benefiting 620 families across 10 villages.
Alongside, livelihood enhancement interventions include the provision of goat sheds, protecting cattle from wild animals and increasing income, particularly in leopard prevalent areas like Ambegaon.
Furthermore, farmer’s training sessions are conducted, imparting knowledge on innovative farming techniques and entrepreneurial skills.
To date, more than 600 agriculturists have received training through esteemed organizations such as KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra) and ADT(Agriculture Development Trust) who are working collaboratively with Oxford University, and Microsoft.
