Our Correspondent from Chintalayapalle Village, Kolimigundla Mandal, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh reports:

When a Pall of Gloom descended!

Education is the Saviour! It is the tool that emancipates and helps one realise all other rights and liberties. All hell broke loose for Smitha (name changed) when Andhra Pradesh State Board declared the results for Class 10 examinations in the last week of May 2022 at Chintalayapalle Village in Nandyal District. Scoring 11 out of 100 in Mathematics and 24 out of 100 in Social Studies, Smitha had perhaps nearly hit a dead end in academics. Sadly, she was not the only one wailing. Her parents and siblings were equally crestfallen. Sailing in the same boat were eleven more children from the village who had failed in Mathematics, Social Studies and Hindi either jointly or severally.

With the Compartment Exams scheduled to be held in just about a month thereon, much of all hope to pass had vanished in thin air for all the 12 children.

Assistive Education Classes turned out to be Providential for the Children of Chintalayapalle

“The timing was absolutely providential for all of us. We couldn’t have asked for more”, said Shaaziyaa (name changed) another student who thrillingly told our correspondent about the marks she scored in the Compartment Examination. “Considering that we barely had 4 weeks at hand, the Assistive Education Teachers for Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Hindi worked with us day and night explaining to us the fundamentals literally from scratch”, said D. Raju (name changed) yet another student who passed the examination with a reasonably good margin.

“What had turned into a roadblock was transformed into a delightful second chance for me, where I actually developed a fondness for Hindi, the way it was taught at the Assistive Education Centre by Haseena Madame. I had got only 6 marks in the Board Exams but fared exceptionally well in the Compartment Examination where I scored 60 out of 100,” exclaimed Kamakshi (name changed) all smiles.

Role of SAMATHA NGO

“The whole village erupted in celebration when the results of the Compartment Exams were declared on 4th August where out of the 12 children who attended Assistive Education Classes at our Centre, 9 passed. That is a 75% strike rate. In fact, the response has been so encouraging that parents of other children have been forming beeline at our site office for enrolling their children for the Assistive Education Classes that commenced from 3rd August”, exuberantly said Marala Bhaskar, the Intervention Manager for the Children’s Education and Empowerment initiative who is on payrolls of SAMATHA NGO.

Unique CSR that support rights-based approach

Elaborating further Marala Bhaskar said, “The CSR intervention that has been designed by Viviid Emissions Reductions Universal Private Limited is quite unique because it supports a rights-based approach for all children. We are sensitising children about their rights and the social welfare schemes that they are entitled to. We want to make all of them aware so that they become confident and self-reliant. In order to hone their personality, Communicative English classes have also been rolled out under this CSR Intervention, which is quite a unique step. A lot of children right from Class 1 up to 10th are already on board and the enrolment count is steadily climbing.”

Chintalayapalle to be transformed into a Model Child-Friendly Village in Andhra Pradesh under the CSR Intervention of Viviid Emissions Reductions

Congratulating the Children and the Assistive Education Teachers for this impressive comeback, Puneet Katyal, CEO at Viviid Emissions Reductions Universal Private Limited said, “If it doesn’t empower, it isn’t education – and I truly mean it!!! Just two months into the intervention and I can already gauge the enhanced confidence level among the children and their parents at Chintalayapalle Village. I am happy to say that Chintalayapalle is going steadfast on its journey to becoming a Child-Friendly Village.”

Chintalayapalle: A model village for children’s education and empowerment

“The Bal Panchayat that was elected in the last week of July is already reaching out to the children at large across the village to understand what issues they are facing within their communities. This Bal Panchayat, in turn, will place its charter of demands in front of the Constitutional Body i.e. Village Panchayat, so that the grievances of the children are addressed in a time-bound manner. Our Implementation Agency SAMATHA NGO will assist the children in accomplishing this goal. Chintalayapalle will be transformed into a model village in terms of children’s education and empowerment. This model will thereafter be scaled up and replicated in the best interest of children, something that all stakeholders will be proud of!!!”, Puneet said.

Clear mandate to roll out comprehensive CSR interventions

Our Objective is as clear as it gets! Sustainable Change can only be achieved when Mother Nature and People are both taken care of simultaneously. We have the clear mandate to roll out comprehensive CSR interventions on behalf of our clients who are Developers/ Owners of Renewable Energy Projects or Nature Based Solutions for that matter. We are in the clean and green space already! Having over two decades of hands-on experience in Carbon Management, Climate Change Mitigation and in-house expertise in conceptualisation of CSR Interventions, we are uniquely poised to bring about a wholesome change both for the Planet and the People. We believe in creating shared prosperity, leaving no one behind.”, he added.
