Mumbai: Allcargo Group, an India-born, global logistics conglomerate has embarked on ‘Allcargo Digital Literacy Mission’ under the aegis of its digital literacy program through which it will equip digital literacy labs with computers (laptops / desktops) across schools and colleges in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. The mission is conceived with the objective of developing digital literacy and future skills among students in rural and urban areas. The devices that were made available at the digital literacy lab were initially used by the group’s employees and were refurbished prior to donation.
The initiative was launched on 17th February 2023 at Veer Wajekar College in Phunde, ZP School in Daurnagar and ZP School in Koproli in the presence of Lalitendu Mohanty, Facility head Allcargo JNPT CFS, Shri. Bhausaheb Andhare, Tahsildar Uran, BEO Priyanka Patil, Principal, Funde College, Dr. Pawar, Dr. Nilratan Shende, GM CSR, Allcargo Logistics, Chandrakant Patil, Ambadas Yadav and school headmasters. Over 300 students will benefit this year from schools and colleges across Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Furthermore, it will be strengthened every year to reiterate the company’s commitment towards literacy and narrowing the digital divide.
