Dhamra: Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of Adani Group of Companies, has been working to enable farmers in the Adani Dhamra Port area to adopt and engage in dual cropping and the production of high value crops.
As part of these efforts, the foundation has been providing farmers with capacity building programs in collaboration with government organizations and other groups. On January 3rd and 4th, 2023, a team of 50 farmers from nine port periphery GPs visited the SG Foundation in Suakati, Keonjhar for an exposure visit.
The farmers were introduced to climate resilience agriculture projects, including a solar-based drip irrigation project, integrated farming models, organic vegetable cultivation, fruit crop orchards, and bee farming.
The farmers also visited the Tasar Development Trust, Daseri FPO, and Naradpur FPO to see a millet processing unit, horticulture promotion activities, intercropping of organic vegetables, a custom hiring center, and a community managed seed center. The training and exposure visit were held in partnership with the SG Foundation.
