Lucknow Gets AB InBev India’s 7th Road Safety Lab Under Safer Roads Initiative under CSR
NEW DELHI (India CSR): AB InBev India has expanded its road safety mission with the inauguration of its seventh Road Safety Lab in Lucknow. Set up at the Lucknow Regional Transport Office in Transport Nagar, the new facility aims to promote responsible road behaviour through technology-led learning, simulations, and behavioural assessments. The initiative, launched in partnership with BharatCares and the Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Department, will benefit more than 15,000 people every year.
The Road Safety Lab is part of AB InBev’s global Safer Roads initiative. It focuses on improving awareness among drivers and road users by addressing major risk factors such as drunk driving, over speeding, reckless driving, non-use of helmets and seatbelts, and violation of traffic rules. With the addition of Lucknow, AB InBev India’s Road Safety Lab network now covers seven locations across India and has reached over 80,000 beneficiaries.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, said: “The inauguration of the Road Safety Lab at Lucknow RTO marks an important step towards strengthening road safety awareness among new and existing drivers. AB InBev India’s Roads Safety Lab in Lucknow supports the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to embed responsible driving practices at the grassroots level and improve overall compliance with road safety norms across the state.”
At the Lucknow Road Safety Lab, all new driving license applicants will undergo a mandatory 30-minute interactive module featuring video-based learning, real-life driving simulations, and behavioural assessments – designed to instill safe driving habits early and improve compliance with road safety norms. Built as a scalable and sustainable model, this initiative leverages digital innovation, local language customization, and integration with government licensing systems to enable wider replication across states and deliver long-term improvements in road safety outcomes.
Bratin Roy, Vice President – Corporate Affairs, AB InBev India said, “Road safety remains a key priority for us. Through our Safer Roads initiative, we leverage technology, data, and partnerships to promote responsible driving. The Lucknow Road Safety Lab is an important step in expanding our efforts, and we are proud to work alongside government partners to create scalable solutions that can deliver long-term improvements in road safety.”
With the addition of Lucknow, AB InBev India’s Road Safety Lab network now spans seven locations across the country, including centres in Karnataka and Maharashtra, and has already reached over 80,000 beneficiaries.
Road safety remains a focus area for AB InBev globally, with the company currently implementing road safety programs across 34 countries.
