WNS Cares Foundation (WCF), the Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR arm of WNS (Holdings) Limited (NYSE: WNS), a leading provider of global Business Process Management (BPM) services, conducted a cybersafety awareness webinar in collaboration with Euroschool, Airoli. Over 2000 students, teachers and parents attended the session.
This webinar is the latest in a series of sessions where WCF has partnered with various schools and organizations to raise cybersafety awareness amongst children.
The current pandemic situation has resulted in children spending significant unsupervised time online. In the coming week, nearly 3,000 students from Euroschool are expected undertake a quiz-based thematic assessment test on the CyberSmart (cybersmart.wnscaresfoundation.org) portal.
“It is heartening to see educational institutes like Euroschool join us in the mission to create awareness about safe cyber behavior. The pandemic has pushed us to resort to virtual means of imparting education. Coupled with India’s giant leap in digital learning initiatives, the need to identify protocols for a safe cyber landscape, has now become even more important than ever before,” said Shamini Murugesh, Honorary Chief Mentor, WCF.
CyberSmart is a free-for-all holistic cyber-safety learning ecosystem for education and empowerment of students, teachers, volunteers and parents.
The interface is available in four languages – English, Hindi, Marathi and Telugu – and has a bandwidth of 50,000 concurrent users without capturing any personal data. After completing all themes, students can download a certificate or badge.
The platform was launched last month at a national level by Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
“Education has undergone a complete overhaul due to COVID-19. As schools, parents and children learn to adapt to the virtual way of life, digital-led platforms like CyberSmart will empower us to enable students to use cyberspace judiciously.
WCF’s CyberSmart could not have come at a better time,” said Sudeshna Chatterjee, Director Principal, Euroschool.
Apart from Euroschool, Airoli, students, teachers and parents of over 11 Euroschool branches also attended the webinar.
