Apne Aap Women’s Collective is engaged in grass-root work to prevent second generation sex work. With Sahachari’s financial support, AAWC operates a Day Program offering hot meals, tuition and vocational classes, and a Night Shelter providing protection to up to 20 vulnerable girls.
The Victoria Memorial School for the Blind provides education and training across various skill sets to visually impaired boys, to make them self-sufficient citizens. SF has supported the school by aiding the construction of its Dining Hall.
Over 10,000 sick and injured animals are treated annually at Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, including Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals. The NGO prevents cruelty to animals by employing inspectors, social workers and spreading education and awareness programmes.
SF has funded puppy pens, an adoption centre for destitute animals and a large ambulance service.
Muktangan is a pioneering educational programme with an innovative model offering high-quality, affordable, English-medium education to over 2000 economically-depressed children. 300 children are added annually across 7 Municipal Schools in Mumbai. Members drawn from local communities are given intensive training as child-centered educators, to work alongside teachers. They become useful agents of change, ensuring that the entire community participates in the learning process.
SF has funded cochlear implant surgeries in association with Dr. Milind Kirtane of I Hear Foundation. The surgeries give children with auditory impairments the ability to hear and lead a normal life.
To liberate children from malnutrition, SF has supported midday meals in government schools through Annamrita Foundation of ISCKON with a donation of delivery vans.
Amongst the top three residential universities for women and the largest in the world, Banasthali Vidyapith, near Jaipur, offers undergraduate, post graduate and PhD programmes. SF has offered scholarship support, in perpetuity, to one engineering student at the university.
Kanchi Kamakati Childs Trust is a leading tertiary care hospital in Chennai, catering exclusively to children’s health needs and neonatal care. With SF funds, a free surgical camp for poor children was conducted between Feb & April 2019, in which 47 surgeries were successfully performed, free of cost.

On 9th Jan 2020, Shri Om Birla, Speaker, inaugurated a Cerebral Palsy Day-care Centre named after SF. The donation will run the Centre for 3 years.
Habitat for Humanity provides decent and affordable housing and sanitation for low income families. Sahachari Foundation’s donation of 1,000 water wheels distributed in Karjat area has reduced the drudgery of water collection for many marginalised families and also improved health and hygiene.
Friends of Tribals Society runs One Teacher Schools or Ekal Vidyalayas throughout India, and imparts non-formal primary education to children of adivasi communities. 50 schools are being supported by the Foundation for one year.
Jaipur Foot project promoted by BMVSS: rehabilitates the disabled by providing artificial limbs (Jaipur Foot variations), calipers and other aids and appliances, free of charge.
Lifeline Express (project of Impact India Foundation) provides free health services to India’s rural poor at an accessible railway station in their vicinity. The rail hospital travels to 10 destinations in a year, stopping for 3 weeks at each destination.
Surgeries performed on Lifeline Express include for cleft lip, facial deformities, orthopaedic, cataract and hearing impairment, epilepsy, dental treatment, paediatrics and gynaecology. In addition, there is oral, breast & cervical cancer detection, distribution of spectacles, calipers, crutches and hearing aids.
SF has sponsored Lifeline Express at Korba in the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh in October 2019. Around eight thousand patients were served.
St. Jude India Childcare Centres provide a safe and clean environment for children from outstation places to recuperate following treatment for cancer.
