Mumbai (India CSR): Keshub Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group today unveiled the CSR wall at Mahindra Towers, Mumbai, which epitomizes the spirit of caring prevalent in Mahindra.
Speaking on the occasion, Keshub Mahindra thanked employees for their active participation in various CSR activities under the aegis of ESOPs (Employee Social Options). ESOPs is a unique employee volunteering programme initiated by Mahindra on its 60th anniversary in 2005.
It provides Mahindra employees an opportunity to participate in various socially responsible activities.
Concept behind CSR Wall
The CSR wall is a pictorial representation of key CSR activities conducted by the Mahindra Group, namely Nanhi Kali, Mahindra Pride Schools, Mahindra Hariyali, and its Employee Social Options (ESOPs) programme.
K. C. Mahindra Education Trust
Nanhi Kali is a national girl child sponsorship programme jointly managed by the K. C. Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET) and the Naandi Foundation and is aimed at providing education to the underprivileged girl child in India. Mahindra Pride Schools have been set up by Mahindra in support of the Government mandate for affirmative action with the prime objective to empower youth from socially disadvantaged sections of society by providing livelihood training.
Increasing Green cover
Under the aegis of Mahindra Hariyali, over one million trees have been planted across the country, in an attempt to increase the country’s green cover.
Mahindra – market leader in multi-utility vehicles
The US $6.3 billion Mahindra Group is among the top 10 industrial houses in India. Mahindra is the market leader in multi-utility vehicles in India.
