2023-24 Budget’s focus on vulnerable communities and its commitment to collaboration with NGOs in literacy
NEW DELHI: In response to the recent Budget presentation, Deval Sanghavi, Partner and Co-Founder of Dasra, has expressed his optimism towards the government’s focus on vulnerable communities. He highlighted the development mission for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG), scaling of Eklavya Model Residential schools, and the proposed collaboration with NGOs in the literacy space as particularly encouraging initiatives.
Sanghavi also hopes that this move will pave the way for more opportunities for NGOs to work with the government in achieving the national vision for inclusive development. He added, “We need to ensure that traditional artisans and craftspeople are integrated into the MSME value chain and upskilled in digital and green technologies, among other areas. A collaboration between NGOs and the government will be key in achieving these goals.”
With the Budget’s emphasis on empowering marginalized communities, Sanghavi believes that the coming year will bring new opportunities for NGOs to make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it the most.
