Who is Vishnu Deo Sai?
Vishnu Deo Sai is the current Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and a tribal leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has been a member of the state and national legislature for several years and has also served as a Union Minister of State in the past. He is the first tribal person to become the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He was born in a farmer’s family in Bagia village of Jashpur district on 21 February 1964. He belongs to the Kanwar tribe. He was appointed as the Union Minister of State for Mines, Steel, and Labour & Employment in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first term from 2014 to 2019. In 2023, he returned to state politics and won the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election from Kunkuri.
