CSR Obligation and Spending Details

As per the Companies Act, 2013, companies meeting certain criteria are required to spend at least 2% of their average net profit from the previous three financial years on CSR activities. According to the annual report, Avanti Feeds Limited calculated its CSR obligation for FY 2024-25 at Rs 5.68 crore.

The report states that out of this total obligation, the company spent Rs 2.18 crore during the financial year on various CSR initiatives. The remaining Rs 3.50 crore was transferred to an Unspent CSR Account on March 28, 2025. This amount has been earmarked for ongoing projects that will be implemented over multiple years.

The annual report highlights that this approach is in line with CSR regulations, which allow companies to allocate funds for long-term projects through designated accounts.

Focus on Healthcare Infrastructure

Healthcare emerged as one of the key focus areas of Avanti Feeds’ CSR activities in FY 2024-25. According to the annual report, a significant portion of the funds allocated for ongoing projects is being used for the development of a hospital facility in Kovvur.

The report highlights that the proposed Avanti Hospital aims to improve access to quality healthcare services in rural areas. In addition, the Avanti Healthcare and Diagnostics Centre in Kovvur continued to serve surrounding villages, providing diagnostic services and medical support.

Healthcare initiatives also included organizing medical camps, conducting eye check-up programs, and supporting preventive healthcare activities. These efforts are aimed at addressing basic healthcare needs in underserved communities.

Investments in Education and Skill Development

Education remains another important area of CSR spending for the company. According to the annual report, funds were allocated for the expansion of a Degree and PG College in Kovvur under the AVR Trust.

The report states that this initiative is intended to provide access to higher education for students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. By improving infrastructure and facilities, the project aims to support long-term educational outcomes.

In addition to formal education, Avanti Feeds also focused on skill development in the aquaculture sector. The AU-Avanti Aquaculture Skill Development Centre, established in collaboration with Andhra University, continued to provide training to farmers.

According to the report, thousands of farmers have been trained through this initiative, helping them adopt better practices and improve productivity.

Rural Infrastructure and Community Development

The CSR report also highlights investments in rural infrastructure and community development. According to the annual report, funds were used for projects related to clean drinking water, sanitation, and basic civic amenities.

These initiatives included the installation of water treatment plants, provision of water purification systems, and improvements in drainage systems in selected villages. The company also supported waste management efforts by providing dustbins and promoting cleanliness.

Additionally, contributions were made toward state-level development initiatives through donations to government-supported programs. These efforts are aimed at strengthening infrastructure in rural areas.

Environmental Sustainability Initiatives

Environmental sustainability formed part of Avanti Feeds’ CSR and operational strategy. According to the report, the company undertook plantation drives and energy efficiency measures during the year.

The annual report highlights that the company reduced its dependence on non-renewable energy sources and increased the use of renewable energy through solar installations. Efforts were also made to manage water usage effectively through recycling and treatment systems.

These initiatives reflect a broader commitment to reducing environmental impact while supporting community awareness about sustainability.

Social Welfare and Inclusion Efforts

Apart from infrastructure and development projects, the company also supported social welfare initiatives. According to the report, efforts were made to support vulnerable groups, including women and children.

Programs included support for hostels, welfare organizations, and community-based initiatives that promote inclusion and social development. The company also contributed to sports and youth development by providing equipment and organizing training programs.

Such initiatives aim to improve quality of life and promote equal opportunities within communities.

Governance and CSR Oversight

CSR activities at Avanti Feeds Limited are overseen by a dedicated CSR Committee. According to the annual report, the committee is responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing CSR initiatives.

The report states that all CSR spending during the year was carried out in compliance with the Companies Act and related rules. Funds allocated for ongoing projects were transferred to the Unspent CSR Account as required under the law.

The company has also disclosed that there were no deviations from its CSR policy, ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations.

Long-Term Approach to CSR

The CSR strategy of Avanti Feeds reflects a combination of immediate interventions and long-term projects. While direct spending addressed current needs such as healthcare and sanitation, ongoing projects focus on building infrastructure that will benefit communities over time.

The allocation of funds toward multi-year projects such as hospital construction and educational institutions indicates a long-term vision for community development.

At the same time, initiatives like medical camps and farmer training programs provide immediate support to individuals and families.
