NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a commendable display of corporate citizenship, Alufluoride Limited, a pioneer in converting industrial waste into valuable resources with its motto “Wealth From Waste”, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community welfare. The company’s latest Annual Report for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, reveals a significant investment in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, far exceeding its statutory obligations and reinforcing its dedication to sustainable societal development.

A Foundation of Responsible Business

Alufluoride Limited’s philosophy on corporate governance is deeply rooted in achieving the highest levels of transparency, accountability, and equality in all aspects of its operations and stakeholder interactions. This commitment extends naturally to its CSR efforts, which are designed to uplift communities and contribute to environmental well-being. The company’s CSR policy outlines a broad focus on critical areas such as rural development programs, the Swachh Bharat initiative, promoting education, and enhancing healthcare facilities, including preventive health check-ups and support for children and vulnerable populations. These initiatives underscore Alufluoride’s holistic approach to creating a positive societal impact.

Surpassing the Mandate: The Financials of FY 2025

For the financial year 2024-25, Alufluoride Limited’s average net profit, as per Section 135(5) of the Companies Act, 2013, stood at Rs 16.39 crore. This translated into a mandatory CSR obligation of two percent of this average net profit, amounting to Rs 32.79 lakh. With a surplus of Rs 48 thousand available from previous financial years’ CSR projects, the effective total CSR obligation for the year was calculated at Rs 32.31 lakh.

Remarkably, Alufluoride Limited did not just meet this obligation but surpassed it significantly. The company’s total expenditure on CSR projects for the financial year amounted to a substantial Rs 50 lakh. This proactive approach resulted in an excess expenditure of Rs 17.21 lakh for the current financial year alone. Combined with the previous year’s surplus, a total of Rs 17.69 lakh is now available for set-off against future CSR obligations, highlighting the company’s forward-thinking and sustained commitment.

Targeted Interventions: Making a Tangible Difference

While the detailed breakdown of the entire Rs 50 lakh expenditure for FY 2024-25 is not extensively itemized in the report, a significant portion was allocated to crucial Flood Relief Activities, amounting to Rs 32.79 lakh. This specific intervention reflects the company’s responsiveness to immediate societal needs and its dedication to disaster relief.

Beyond this specified amount, the company’s ongoing CSR policy broadly covers rural development, education, and healthcare initiatives. In the preceding financial year (2023-24), the company spent Rs 6.65 lakh on rural development projects, Rs 5 lakh on promoting education and employment-enhancing vocational skills, and Rs 4.07 lakh on promoting healthcare, including preventive health check-ups. While direct comparable figures for these categories are not provided for FY 2024-25, the overarching policy ensures that the company’s CSR investments continue to align with these vital areas, reinforcing a broad and impactful approach to social welfare.

Governance and Oversight: The Role of the CSR Committee

Alufluoride Limited maintains a robust governance structure for its CSR activities through a dedicated CSR Committee. This committee plays a crucial role in approving, overseeing, and monitoring the company’s CSR activities, projects, and programs. For the year under review, the CSR Committee held one meeting.

The committee is composed of experienced directors, including Dr. Ravi Prasad Gorthy as the Chairman (effective August 14, 2024), Sri A.V.V.S.S.Ch.B. Sekhar Babu (who served as Chairman and Member until August 14, 2024), Sri Yugandhar Meka, Sri Ashok Vemulapalli, Smt. Jyothsana Akkineni, and Sri K. Purushotham Naidu as members. This composition ensures diverse expertise and dedicated oversight, maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the company’s social initiatives. The presence of Independent Directors on the committee further strengthens its governance and accountability.

Transparency and Future Outlook

Alufluoride Limited upholds transparency by making its CSR Committee composition, CSR Policy, and approved CSR projects publicly available on its website, www.alufluoride.com. The company reported no capital assets created or acquired through CSR spending during the financial year. Additionally, there were no unspent CSR amounts remaining at the year-end, underscoring efficient utilization of funds for planned initiatives.

The company’s commitment to social and environmental well-being is also reflected in its broader operational practices, which are ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 45001 certified. These certifications reinforce Alufluoride’s dedication to maintaining high standards of environment, cleanliness, green belt development, water harvesting, pollution control, health, and safety precautions. As Alufluoride Limited continues its journey of converting “waste into wealth”, its sustained and exceeding investment in CSR serves as a testament to its belief that true wealth also lies in a healthy, educated, and resilient community.
