CM lays foundation stone for Aditya Birla Group’s Apparel Manufacturing Unit

BHUBANESWAR: Aditya Birla Retail and Fashion Ltd (ABFRL) will setup an Apparel Manufacturing Unit at Bhubaneswar. The unit will generate employment for about 1600 people, most of whom will be women.
The foundation stone for the unit was unveiled by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik. Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister, applauded the Aditya Birla Group for this initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Dikshit, the Business Head of ABFRL said, “We are proud to bring the manufacturing of apparels for our premium brands like Louis Phillips, Van Huesen, Allen Solly and Peter Englan, to Odisha as a part of the Make in Odisha initiative.”
“This is our first manufacturing unit outside Bangalore region. Our unit will have the capacity of 2.5 million pcs per annum and generate employment for about 1600 people, most of whom will be women”, Mr Dikshit added.
Among others, Prassana Patsani, the MP of Bhubaneswar, Ananta Narayan Jena, the Mayor of Bhubaneswar, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Satish Pai, the MD of Hindalco, R.Swaminathan, the COO of ABFRL, Raviee, the AVP of ABFRL, the senior dignitaries of the Aditya Birla Group company were present during the foundation stone laying ceremony.
