It’s hard to imagine life without Netflix because it’s home to so many blockbuster hits. While this is real, Netflix had a difficult time breaking into the Chinese market due to the tight censorship of what can be viewed and competition from local streaming websites.

Despite the fact that one of Netflix’s original series, House of Cards, was highly popular in the country that has banned it, this situation breaks the heart of many viewers.

Having said that, there is still a viable way to circumvent the censorship and surveillance restrictions imposed on the Internet, including those imposed by Netflix, in order to watch your favorite shows in any geographical region.

How Does Netflix Able To Detect A VPN?

Nowadays, Netflix also makes their security so high as they can also detect if you are using any VPN service.

Netflix has its pre-setted list that provides all the information regarding IP addresses.

Netflix most likely uses a program that monitors and reports on IP addresses, including which ones are linked to VPNs. They will block VPNs until they know which ones belong to them. When users use a service that does not periodically update their IP addresses, this becomes an issue.

Able To Detecting Shared IP Addresses

When you use a VPN, you can be assigned a shared IP address that is shared by a large number of other users. If Netflix notices a lot of traffic from a particular IP address, they will easily determine that it is a VPN and block it. This is a concern for VPNs that have a small number of servers and IP addresses available.

Also Caught Geolocation

Although your VPN can show you logging in from a different country, Netflix has other ways of determining your location. Your billing address is the most important. Netflix can assume you’re using a VPN if your billing address is in New York and your traffic originates in Germany.

Your browser can also reveal a lot about you. Netflix remembers whether you log into Netflix and watch a movie without a VPN or with it set to the nearest server. Netflix detects something is wrong when you use a VPN to change your position.

The most profitable VPN providers can afford to purchase replacement IP addresses just as quickly as Netflix can block them. Smaller, less popular providers aren’t as lucky, which is why so many of them are unable to reach Netflix locations where they previously did.

Looking For DNS Server Location Mismatches

Netflix blocks VPNs in a slightly more technical way by identifying conflicts between IP addresses and DNS (Domain Name Server) settings. The Netflix app, particularly on mobile devices, has some features that can detect this problem, detect that you’re using a VPN, and block access to some or all content.

The other important method is that Netflix uses to detect VPN is mention in the next section.

Netflix Detects DNS Along With Virtual Private Network

Domain Name Servers (DNS) stands for Domain Name System. These servers act as Internet phonebooks, keeping track of each domain name’s the IP address in a ledger.

Normally, we will type a website’s name into a browser’s address bar. For the server to be able to return the data to you, it must first be translated into its respective IP address, which is done by DNS.

How Can You Bypass Netflix VPN Ban?

There are various methods that you can try to prevent Netflix from tracking your VPN.

These three important factors can help you in protecting your network. The very first method is to use detected IP addresses instead of using any other IP address.

The second method is, avoid installing a VPN on your device directly. Try to install it on your local router this can help in using a secured network that no one detects.

Third, use that VPN service provider or company that will provide some regular updates and renew your IP address alternatively.
