The COVID-19 crisis has placed governments all over the world in a state of extreme instability, forcing them to make difficult trade-offs to address health, economic, and social issues. As a responsible multinational conglomerate from Nepal, CG Corp Global has mobilized its network and resources to serve the people through Chaudhary Foundation, the social initiative of the organization.
To combat the second wave of COVID-19 in Nepal, Chaudhary Foundation is planning to set up an ICU ward and oxygen plant at Bir Hospital, the largest and oldest government hospital in Nepal. The state-of-the-art ICU ward will have 18 ICU beds with ventilators and other medical equipment.
The Foundation will also set up two oxygen plants in the Mid and Far Western part of Nepal. The capacity of these oxygen plants will be 50 cubic meters per hour and can fill up to 200 oxygen cylinders of 40 liters’ capacity daily.
Additionally, the Foundation is importing and distributing oxygen concentrators for immediate relief of non-ICU patients. “We are committed to immediately import oxygen concentrators and make them available to the hospitals in remote locations and areas that are facing a crisis due to severe shortage of oxygen,” highlights a statement issued by Chaudhary Foundation. The Foundation estimates around US$1 million will be spent on this emergency health response.
Likewise, the multinational conglomerate is replicating its response towards the Covid-19 outbreak through its various business hubs present across five continents. In India, Chaudhary Foundation has committed essential support to vulnerable communities in the National Capital Region with relief outreach programs. Chaudhary Foundation India has been rigorously working to extend its COVID-19 relief response to the people of India. Last year & this year as well, personal protective equipment, testing kits and N95 masks have been procured for the health centers and high-risk states & distributed.
In 2020, CG Corp Global, an international conglomerate known for its philanthropy activities, has committed essential support to vulnerable communities in the National Capital Region with outreach including displaced artists, craftspeople, waste collectors, mine workers, stranded migrants, refugees and sex workers.
In Moldova, Moldcell Foundation, the social responsibility initiative of telecom operator Moldcell (part of CG Corp Global) has been actively supporting the fight against COVID-19 since the outbreak. The Foundation has provided free minutes and data to doctors, teachers, pupils, clients; free Wi-Fi in COVID-19 hospital; 5000 protection suits for medical personnel, along with the provision of lunch for a year and 10 lung vents in eight hospitals. The support amounts to more than 10 million MDL (565, 000 USD).
