NEW DELHI: As India grapples with the second wave of the COVID crisis and the consequent shortage of oxygen and other medical needs across cities, DCM Shriram Ltd has stepped up initiatives to meet the growing requirements for oxygen.
The Company will be installing 7 Oxygen Generations Plants with PSA (Pressure Swing Absorption) technology six in the District Hospitals of Bharuch and Ankleshwar in Gujarat and one in District Hospital at Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh with a capacity of 10,000 litres/hr.
“Considering the ongoing crisis, we are working closely with the state governments/ local administration to help our communities through setting up oxygen generation plants, providing oxygen concentrators. We will continue these efforts while keeping a close eye on the ongoing needs of our communities.” said Mr. Ajay Shriram, Chairman & Senior Managing Director, and Mr. Vikram Shriram, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, DCM Shriram Ltd.
DCM Shriram Ltd has also donated 100 Oxygen Concentrators to the District Administration & Medical College of Kota, Rajasthan. Additionally, the Company provided technical support in setting up the Oxygen Generation Plant at the Medical College, Kota.
DCM Shriram Ltd has repurposed its manufacturing facility at Kota (Rajasthan) and Bharuch (Gujarat) to produce sodium hypochlorite which is being given to state governments/local administration of Gujarat, Rajasthan and UP for sanitization purposes.
DCM Shriram has also donated N95 masks, PPE kits and hand sanitizers across 12 government health centres in Bharuch, Gujarat.
The Company has also begun a mass awareness campaign and mobilization for COVID-19 vaccinations through IEC material and busting myths about vaccination across communities in Kota, Bharuch, Hardoi and Lakhimpur Kheri.
