In the wake of the global pandemic, travelling stayed a no-go across the globe. Countries closed their borders for both exports and people, preventing any foreign introduction of any sort. Eventually, the boarders loosened up a bit, if not opened entirely, allowing the movement of goods and people.

At the same time, India too opened up interstate travelling via flights which is the safest possible mode of transport. However, it is only as safe as it is kept by people.

Various countries and states are taking a careful approach towards opening up their borders. Simultaneously, airlines are also going above and beyond to ensure optimum safety of the passengers flying with them.

It is now people’s chance to do their bit in curbing this pandemic by taking all possible precautions while traveling and in general.

If you are looking for some ins and outs on air travel during this pandemic, look no further! Here’s a list of all the things you need to keep in mind while air traveling within the country or abroad.  Let’s check them out!

Stay Updated

With rapid changes in the situations, countries and states are making rapid changes in their policies. The only way of enjoying a hassle-free journey is to stay updated about the recent-most norms of your current location as well as the destination. Keep a close lookout for travel restrictions, travel policies, quarantine policies, etc. of both places for a few days before you leave for the flight.

Quarantine Policy

Quarantine is the only way to prevent the spread of coronavirus any further. In the current scenario, different places have different rules regarding quarantine. Foreign countries might ask you to go for a institutional quarantine, while others might allow you to book a quarantine hotel ahead of the visit. Similarly, Indian states also have their own set of rules for quarantine. In either of these scenarios, you need to have a well-planned quarantine to stay safe, keep others safe, and comply to the rules. In case of institutional quarantine norms, pack yourself a carry-on with extra sets of clothes depending on how many days you’ll need to stay. For home-quarantine, plan your essential supplies ahead of time. Make sure you have everything at your disposal at home so that you don’t need to leave your abode.

Follow the Rules

It may seem like people are not too bothered about COVID-19 anymore, but it is still a deadly virus and much more harmful than a regular cold. It is a must to take the precautionary measures seriously and comply with the rules of the airlines and states. Make sure to reach on time for all the test procedures to be done, wear the provided PPE kit at least until you reach home, follow the quarantine rules regardless of whether you notice any symptoms or not.

Coronavirus has brought the world to a stand-still. Before normal life activities can be resumed to its full potential, it is necessary for health to return to normal as well. The only way to achieve it is by ensuring full safety even while travelling, whether by getting a travel insurance or by wearing a mask.
