Society of Community Health Oriented Operational Links (SCHOOL) is launching ‘Teen Coalition’ at India International Center in New Delhi on 26th June, 2019.
Teen Coalition is the crowning association for development of adolescents (age group 10 to 19) in India with a mission of supporting and advocating for organizations and individuals that work with the adolescents, and thereby enhance adolescents’ development.
The first meeting during the launch of Teen Coalition will orient the stakeholders on the existing situation with regard to the efforts being made for the development of adolescents in India and initiate the process of creating opportunities for the adolescent sector to connect nationally, regionally and digitally and building networks along with people who work with adolescents.
Government officials, donor organizations, corporate, experts, civil society leaders are going to join the meeting.
Dr. Benazir Patil, CEO, SCHOOL, said, “Both the data and international reports reflect that by 2020, India is set to become the world’s youngest country with 64 per cent of its population in the working age group, and 10 to 19 is a very important section of this young population. We need to invest in adolescents in order to improve their present lives, help their transition to successful adulthood, and ensuring wellbeing of the next generation”
“The meeting will decide a way forward on how to champion adolescent development through effective leadership, networking and a cohesive voice”, she said.
