Newgen Software’s CSR program has always believed in empowering underprivileged children and has worked towards their sustainable development. Newgen started its CSR in the year 2006, with the establishment of Sadbhavna, even before the law came into existence. Sadbhavna was created to help children with their education and overall growth.

Today, Sadbhavna has more than hundred children registered and every month new children continue to join. During the session, on every second Saturday, children in the age-group 12-19 are given training in personality development. Experts have been signed-up for taking these classes.

The younger lot in the age-group of 4-11 are handled by volunteers and CSR team. They are shown audiovisuals, have drawing, painting, and craft sessions, story-telling and also basic personality development with emphasis on moral values.

In the last ten years there have been many success stories. Regular counselling sessions by volunteers and Newgen’s CSR team and their guidance has helped many children select right courses in school and in building their careers.

Raveena and Ramesh, have been attending Sadbhavna sessions from the day of its inception. After completing their class 12th, they have joined prestigious colleges in Delhi. Both being from Hindi medium background have chosen to study in English medium and are scoring more than 60 percent in every semester.

Raveena, wants to be a school teacher and Ramesh wants to appear for UPSC. Seeing their passion for education and hard-work, their dreams will surely be realized.

Another rising star is Neelam. She finished BCA from IP University and joined Newgen as a trainee with the implementation team. After three years of working in the domestic market, she is ready to go for an implementation to Middle-East.

Another very important Newgen’s core CSR Initiative is ‘Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala’ which is based on empowering children through Digital Education. This stems from the vision of Newgen’s Managing Director. It aims at transforming their classroom sessions into fun–learning activities. To make their education more meaningful their school curriculum is taken as the baseline.

The Digital Paathshala is a fun place to learn the textbook concepts digitally. Also, Newgen’s facilitator are using methodologies like role play, quiz, movies and presentations while conducting the sessions. These highly interactive classroom sessions not only enhance the e-learning skills of the children but also generate curiosity in them to learn more about the subjects taught to them.

Newgen has adopted Government’s Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Harkesh Nagar, Okhla in Delhi and is currently conducting classes for 900+ children of class 6 and 7. Newgen has furnished the classrooms with colorful benches and desks, and during the sessions children use Ipads to study their schools syllabus. Newgen plans to set-up a Lab in the school and equip it with the latest equipment available for digital education.

During vacations camps are held to keep them engaged with creative activities like craft, drawing and dramatics. There is emphasis on team building activities and revising school curriculum using Ipads.

The camps are very successful and the children attend these regularly. To encourage them and make them competitive, prizes are given to the top scorers in every session.

Newgen’s CSR Programs also focuses on children’s overall growth. Sessions are regularly conducted by experts to enhance Communication Skills and Personality Development.

Newgen works closely with SOS Children’s Village and SOS Youth Hostel with the help of trained professionals. The organization supports three families in the SOS Village. Regular interactive programs are conducted by volunteers with these families and other children of the village. Mothers are encouraged to participate in creative sessions with the children.

SOS Youth Hostel children attend Digital Literacy and Personality Development sessions with Sadbhavna children in the Okhla office.

Newgen recognizes the need to prepare under-privileged children to face challenges heads-on, build their confidence and decision-making skills.

Newgen is a socially responsible corporate which aims at making an impact on the children and society at large through its programs.

Apart from the above, Newgen is an Environment friendly organization and doesn’t promote plastic in and outside the organization. Also, it encourages employees for volunteering and contributing in various CSR Programs. Newgen’s CSR team recently conducted woolen drive for Goonj, an NGO in Delhi, textbooks donation, education support, mentoring students, counseling sessions etc. for the Sadbhavna children. All the CSR initiatives saw a lot of enthusiasm and participation from Newgen employees.
