MUMBAI: Mukund Govind Rajan, 49, Chief Ethics Officer of Tata Sons, who has spent over 23 years with the group, has resigned from the Tata group. The highlight of his career is working with three successive Chairmen – Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry and N. Chandrasekaran of world’s leading business conglomerate.
“I have resigned from the Tata group to evaluate certain entrepreneurial pursuits”, Mukund Rajan today informed India CSR Network.
“I now look forward to another exciting journey outside the world of Tata.”, he added.
“It has been a wonderful 23 years with the Tata group, as a Tata Administrative Service (TAS) Officer, and I have had the privilege of serving across several Tata companies, multiple industries and functions, and in close proximity to 3 different Group Chairmen.”, he said.
“The group has been extremely kind to me and entrusted me with leadership responsibilities across spaces as diverse as telecoms, private equity, brand management, sustainability and ethics.”, he further added.
“… Tata Brand Custodian; as Chairman of the Tata Global Sustainability Council, we put in place India’s largest corporate volunteering program, ‘Tata Engage’; and as the Chief Ethics Officer of the group, I had the privilege of steering the first overhaul in a generation of the Tata Code of Conduct, which now holds its own with the codes of the best companies in the world.”, he elaborated the contributions.
As per statement of Tata Sons, Dr. Rajan and Tata Sons have mutually agreed that Dr. Rajan will leave the services of Tata Sons on March 31, 2018.
