MUMBAI: Sahabhag, CSR platform of Government of Maharashtra in partnership with CII, UNDP, BSE Sammaan and ICAI is organizing a day long ‘Jalyukt Shivar CSR Summit’ on 5 May, 2017.
Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan, a flagship program of the Government of Maharashtra aims at making the state drought free by 2019. The program is seen as an important policy shift from major irrigation projects to decentralized water structures. Convergence of multiple schemes and funds, focused approach, decentralized planning, participation of local community are some of the features of the program. In its first year Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan was implemented in 6,202 villages resulting in water storage capacity of almost 41 TMC.
Water conservation and management has emerged as a key focus area for Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities. Several prominent personalities in the society too are actively engaged in the cause of drought-free Maharashtra.
The success of Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan is partly derived from the massive public contribution and participation. Effectively channelized CSR support for water-themed interventions (viz. conservation, management & awareness) can provide a big boost to Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan.

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
