MUMBAI: Astarc CSR (Kishore Musale Charitable Trust, Mumbai) had organized Joy of Giving event at four locations of its offices during 19-26 October 2016 with a message, “To donate something is not only an act of generosity, it also gives us pleasure. We make a living by what we get. We make life by what we give.”
Through this event 42 big Sacks (Gonis) wearable clothes, 11 cartons of stationary, toys and 7 cartons of dry food material like biscuits, rice, chocolates were collected.
Group CSR Head – Upendra Sontakke said, “This time we tied up with Magsaysay Award winning NGO Goonj who coordinates Joy of Giving with most of the corporates. They have facility at Kahimira where cloths are washed, repaired and segregated as per age group.”
These cloths will be gifted to needy ones in tribal areas, flood affected people and road side beggars. Food material will be distributed by KMCT volunteers to ‘Swami Aadhar Vardhini Orphanage home at Vajreshwari’. This orphanage is having children of Farmers who have committed suicides from drought hit areas of Maharashtra.
Theses donated material will bring a big smile on face of less privileged people who never get opportunity to have such cloths and other useful stuff.
The material dispatch ceremony was graced by presence of Astarc Management officials Pandurang Chougale, Group HR Head, Santosh Patil, Plant Head Pelhar, Kedar Joshi, VP Operations, Uday Singh, Sr. Executive Security and many other associates.
On this event Group CSR Head – Upendra Sontakke said,” We at Astarc always try to engage our associates in social activities on various occasions. It gives them pleasure of social service as well they feel attachment with CSR department. Always we receive excellent response and support from our associates and Management as well. I am sure that this usable material will meet the need of less privileged ones for some time and bring smile on their face.”
