JHARSUGUDA: Subhalaxmi Bahumukhee Mahila Samabaya Limited, Jharsuguda, a co-operative promoted by Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda under its CSR initiative conducted the felicitation ceremony of successful students of HSC examination 2016 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jharsuguda on 20 July’2016.
On the occasion scholarships worth Rs.92,000/- were awarded to 37 successful students as a support for higher education.
Three students securing grade A2 were provided with scholarships worth Rs 4000/- each, 12 students securing grade B1 were provided with scholarships worth Rs 3000/- each and 22 securing grade B2 were provided with of Rs 2000/- each.
The chief guest on the occasion was Surendra Sahu -Block Education Officer (BEO) Jharsuguda. Speaking on the occasion he praised this unique initiative of “Subhalaxmi Kalyan Panti Fund”through which the scholarship was provided to the students.
He also expressed his desire to collaborate with Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda in carrying out career counselling sessions for the schools and colleges of Jharsuguda. Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Pushpanjali Seth, President (Subhalaxmi co-operative) added that this is the 4th successful year of carrying out this unique initiative of the co-operative which is promoted by them as their social responsibility towards the society.
Present on the occasion were Board of Directors of Subhalaxmi Co-operative, officials of CSR and PR Team, Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda and the parents of successful students from 13 villages of Jharsuguda.
