MUMBAI: HP Inc. India has won the 12th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards for Best CSR of an American Company in India. The award was hosted by Indo American Chamber of Commerce at Trident, Mumbai on 14 July. On the behalf of the company Leo Joseph- Director Enterprise Sales and Ashish Sahay- Head CSR received the prestigious award.
Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) has been organizing Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards since the past 11 years. Established in 1968, IACC is the apex bi-lateral Chamber synergizing India-US Economic Engagement. It was started by Ambassador Chester Bowles along with the then Industry leaders and visionaries like S L Kirloskar, Harish Mahindra, H. P. Nanda, Ambalal Kilachand, A. M. M. Arunachalam, Mr. Frederick Fales and John Oris Sims for enhancing US India Economic Engagement. Today IACC has pan India presence with 2400 members at 12 locations, representing cross section of US and Indian Industry.
Through these Awards, this year, the Chamber recognized the best Indian Companies in the US and the best US Companies in India in the following categories:
- Excellence in Manufacturing
- Excellence in Services
- Excellence in Innovation
- Excellence in CSR
- Green office space of the Year
- Business Leaders of the Year
- Company of the Year
Ram Jethmalani, MP Rajyasabha graced the occasion as chief guest along-with Deanna H Abdeen, Acting Consul General, U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai. Amongst other dignitaries present were representatives from the INDO-US Business Community, IACC Members, US and other diplomatic community, Expatriates, Corporate representatives and Celebrities.
An eminent jury comprising of Business Leaders and bureaucrats from Indian and US examined the applications and selected the Awardees. As knowledge partners, PWC helped develop a transparent process of selecting the awardees. The awards celebrate corporate excellence and provide an impetus for both Indian and American companies to work together in achieving increased investments as well as exploring trade opportunities.
