Annual Report Highlights CSR Spending, Ongoing Projects, and Community Impact Across India.

NEW DELHI (India CSR): In many parts of India, access to clean cooking, safe drinking water, and basic healthcare continues to influence everyday life, especially in rural and underserved communities. Small improvements in these areas can bring meaningful change for families. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives often help bridge these gaps by supporting essential services. According to the company’s annual report, UFlex Limited outlined its CSR efforts for the financial year 2024-25 with a focus on community welfare and sustainability. The company reported CSR spending of around Rs 2.67 crore during the year, while also allocating additional funds for ongoing projects. The report highlights that key initiatives were directed toward clean energy solutions, safe water access, healthcare services, and education support. Through these efforts, UFlex aimed to improve living conditions and create long-term benefits for communities across different regions.

CSR Obligation and Spending Details

The annual report states that UFlex Limited calculated its CSR obligation in line with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. The company reported an average net profit of Rs 270.86 crore over the last three financial years. Based on this, its CSR obligation for 2025 was Rs 5.42 crore.

After adjusting for an excess spend of Rs 19.81 lakh from previous years, the net CSR requirement stood at Rs 5.22 crore. Against this obligation, the company spent Rs 2.67 crore during the year.

The report highlights that the remaining Rs 2.55 crore has not been left unused. Instead, it has been allocated to an ongoing project, mainly a school construction initiative in Greater Noida. As per regulatory requirements, this amount has been transferred to a designated “Unspent CSR Account” for future use within the allowed timeline.

Focus on Clean Energy and Water Access in Rural Areas

A major part of UFlex’s CSR work in 2025 was carried out in Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh, which is identified as an aspirational district. According to the annual report, the company focused on improving both environmental conditions and public health in the region.

One of the key initiatives involved the distribution of 4,000 improved cookstoves. These stoves are designed to reduce indoor air pollution and use fuel more efficiently. The report highlights that this initiative benefited around 20,000 people, mainly women and children, who are most exposed to smoke from traditional cooking methods.

In addition to clean cooking, the company also worked on improving access to safe drinking water. The annual report states that 3,700 water filters were distributed in the same region. This effort reached nearly 18,500 individuals, helping reduce the risk of water-borne diseases and improving overall hygiene.

Healthcare Support for Informal Workers

UFlex Limited also extended its CSR activities to urban areas, particularly in Delhi NCR. The annual report highlights that the company focused on the health needs of informal waste workers, a group that often lacks access to basic healthcare services.

During the year, health and wellness camps were organised for more than 1,000 waste workers. These camps provided a range of services, including vision testing, mental health support, and awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene.

The report notes that such initiatives were conducted in collaboration with local organisations and healthcare professionals. The aim was to create safe and accessible spaces where workers could receive support without barriers.

Investment in Education and Community Infrastructure

Education remained a key priority in UFlex’s CSR strategy for 2025. The annual report highlights several initiatives aimed at improving learning conditions and access to modern education tools.

The company supported the installation of smart classrooms, benefiting around 4,000 students. These classrooms were equipped with digital tools to enhance interactive learning. In addition, infrastructure improvements in schools helped around 2,240 children by providing better learning environments.

The report also mentions ongoing investment in a school construction project in Greater Noida. This project accounts for a significant portion of the unspent CSR funds and is expected to provide long-term benefits once completed.

Beyond education, UFlex also worked on community well-being by setting up open-air gyms. These facilities are estimated to benefit around 22,000 people by promoting physical fitness and healthier lifestyles.

Another initiative, AbhiKIDS Care Stations, provided support services to over 1,000 children, focusing on care and development.

Linking CSR with Environmental Responsibility

The annual report also places CSR activities in the broader context of the company’s environmental efforts. While CSR spending is focused on social development, it aligns with UFlex’s larger sustainability goals.

The report highlights that the company continues to work on recycling and waste management through its initiatives. During the year, UFlex recycled a large number of PET bottles and flexible plastic waste, contributing to environmental conservation.

In addition, the company announced investments in upgrading its recycling facilities. These efforts are part of its long-term strategy to reduce environmental impact while supporting community well-being.

Balanced Approach to Social Impact

The CSR report reflects a mix of short-term support and long-term investment. On one hand, initiatives like health camps and distribution of water filters address immediate needs. On the other hand, projects such as school construction and infrastructure development aim to create lasting impact.

According to the annual report, the company has focused on areas where it can make measurable improvements in quality of life. These include health, education, environment, and community infrastructure.

Conclusion

UFlex Limited’s CSR spending of Rs 2.67 crore in 2025 presents a detailed picture of how corporate funds are being used to support community development. While the spending was below the total obligation, the report makes it clear that the remaining amount has been committed to ongoing projects in line with legal requirements.

From rural households in Madhya Pradesh to informal workers in urban areas, the company’s initiatives have reached different sections of society. The annual report highlights that these efforts are part of a structured approach to CSR, focusing on both immediate relief and long-term development.
