Focus Areas: Education, Healthcare and Livelihoods

Welspun Corp’s CSR strategy is built around key sectors that address basic development needs. According to the annual report, Welspun Corp Limited focused mainly on education, healthcare, livelihood generation, environment, and social inclusion.

These programs were carried out across multiple states, targeting rural and underserved communities. The report indicates that Welspun Corp Limited’s initiatives reached over 11 lakh individuals during FY 2024–25.

Education Initiatives: Improving Learning Outcomes

Education remained one of the largest focus areas for CSR spending during the year. Under its flagship education program, Welspun Corp Limited worked to improve the quality of learning in government schools.

The annual report states that over 2,33,971 students benefited from education initiatives in FY25. These efforts included the introduction of SMART classrooms, digital learning tools, and teacher training programs.

More than 80,000 students gained access to digital classrooms, helping bridge the gap between rural and urban education systems. The report highlights that such interventions have improved student engagement and learning outcomes.

In addition, around 12,000 adolescents participated in life skills and career guidance sessions. These programs were aimed at preparing students for future opportunities and improving their confidence.

Healthcare Services: Expanding Access in Rural Areas

Healthcare was another major area of intervention. Welspun Corp’s CSR programs focused on improving access to primary healthcare services, especially in remote locations.

According to the annual report, healthcare initiatives reached over 3,18,697 individuals during the year. Welspun Corp Limited organised medical camps, awareness sessions, and preventive health programs.

Mobile medical units played a key role in delivering services directly to communities. These units served more than 23,000 patients, providing consultations, basic diagnostics, and referrals where needed.

The report also highlights a strong emphasis on preventive healthcare. Awareness programs on issues such as anemia, diabetes, and hypertension reached over 1,40,000 individuals, encouraging early detection and treatment.

Livelihood Programs: Supporting Income Generation

Livelihood development remained an important pillar of Welspun Corp’s CSR efforts. Welspun Corp Limited focused on skill development and entrepreneurship, particularly for women and rural youth.

The annual report states that Welspun Corp engaged around 55,000 individuals through livelihood initiatives. Of these, 30,154 people were direct beneficiaries, gaining access to skill training and income-generating opportunities.

Programs were aligned with local economic activities and traditional crafts. For example, initiatives supported skills such as Ajrakh printing, Zari Zardozi, and sewing, helping preserve local art forms while creating income opportunities.

The report highlights that a significant number of participants reported improved household incomes and increased participation in decision-making within their families.

Agriculture and Environment Initiatives

Welspun Corp also undertook programs aimed at environmental sustainability and agricultural development. These initiatives were designed to support farmers and promote climate-resilient practices.

According to the report, Welspun Corp Limited reached 1,24,614 farmers through agricultural programs. Training sessions were conducted on modern farming techniques and sustainable practices.

In addition, Welspun Corp Limited carried out plantation drives, planting 11,679 trees during the year. These efforts contributed to environmental conservation and helped improve local ecosystems.

Programs promoting kitchen gardens were also introduced, benefiting hundreds of households and improving food security at the community level.

Support for Sports and Skill Development

Beyond core sectors, Welspun Corp Limited also invested in initiatives aimed at supporting talent and promoting inclusion. One such program focused on women athletes, providing them with training, equipment, and financial support.

According to the annual report, 22 athletes were supported under this initiative, winning a total of 139 medals at various levels. Welspun Corp Limited invested Rs 2.02 crore in this program, reflecting a targeted approach to nurturing talent.

Additionally, skill development programs were introduced in areas such as plumbing, welding, and retail. These programs were designed to provide employment opportunities, with training centres set up in select locations.

Governance and CSR Oversight

The annual report also outlines the governance structure for CSR activities. Welspun Corp has a dedicated CSR Committee at the board level, responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing CSR programs.

The report states that all CSR activities are aligned with Welspun Corp Limited’s broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework. Regular monitoring and reporting ensure transparency and accountability.
