How unspent CSR funds support ongoing multi-year social programs.

NEW DELHI (India CSR): Hindalco Industries Limited has released its CSR report for 2025. The report explains its total social spending for the year. It also explains the Rs 54 crore unspent CSR amount clearly. Many people often misunderstand the meaning of unspent funds. This money is not unused or ignored by the company. It is safely kept for long term social projects. These projects need more time for proper completion. Hindalco spent Rs 160.99 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. The company supported health, education, and livelihoods. Many rural and tribal families received direct benefits. Over one million people accessed healthcare services. Thousands of students received educational support and scholarships. Women and youth joined skill training programs. Infrastructure projects improved village roads and drinking water access. The report shows full transparency in financial reporting. It also confirms compliance with Indian CSR laws. Hindalco aims to create lasting social impact. The company believes growth must reach the poorest communities.

The Total CSR Investment in 2025

Hindalco invested Rs 160.99 crore in various Indian social projects. This amount covers both standalone units and subsidiary companies now. Standalone units in India spent exactly Rs 64.33 crore today. Subsidiary companies across India spent another Rs 42.41 crore now. They also moved large sums to a special unspent account. Total group community spending reached a sum of Rs 235.38 crore. This includes work done by their global arm called Novelis. They want to make the world greener and much stronger.

Explaining the Rs 54 Crore Unspent Amount

The report explains why some CSR funds remain unspent today. Hindalco Standalone moved Rs 54 crore to a special account. This money is saved specifically for big ongoing social projects. Ongoing projects are long-term plans that take several years now. The law says this unspent money must be tracked closely. Subsidiaries also moved Rs 24.83 lakhs to an unspent account today. This ensures that important community work never stops in India. Funds in this account will be used in three years.

Following Indian Laws for Social Welfare

The law requires a 2% spend of average net profits. Hindalco’s total CSR obligation for 2025 was Rs 117.74 crore. They actually spent a total of Rs 118.33 crore today. This shows the company spent more than the legal requirement. Their average net profit was Rs 5,886.81 crore this year. Every rupee is used to help very poor marginalized groups. They follow the principle of trusteeship for all their work. Transparency is a very key part of their social reporting.

Improving Healthcare in Remote Rural Areas

Healthcare is a top priority for the entire Hindalco team. They spent Rs 12.55 crore on health for standalone units. Subsidiaries spent another Rs 16.55 crore to help many people. Over one million people got medical help from these clinics. Mobile health vans travel to the very far hill villages. They also give polio drops to many thousands of children. Sanitation programs help stop the spread of many bad diseases. Mothers and babies receive nutritious food and also medical care.

Investing in Education for a Brighter Future

Education received a huge boost from Hindalco funds in 2025. Standalone operations spent Rs 31.32 crore on local schools now. Subsidiary companies added Rs 5.29 crore for many tribal students. They provide school bags and books to many young children. Many school buildings were repaired to make them very safe. Digital literacy classes prepare youth for a very modern future. Over eighty thousand students now have better access to learning. Scholarships help bright students reach their own big life goals.

Building Stronger Livelihoods for Indian Families

Creating jobs helps families lead happy and healthy lives today. Standalone operations spent Rs 6.40 crore on new job plans. Subsidiaries spent another Rs 6.61 crore to train village people. They trained over two thousand women in modern tailoring units. Farmers learned how to grow more food on their land. Project Wadi helps families plant many healthy fruit trees today. Many young people learned skills to find work in cities. This training helps people lead lives of dignity and respect.

Better Village Roads and Safe Drinking Water

Village infrastructure received Rs 3.97 crore from the standalone company. Subsidiary units invested a larger sum of Rs 11.38 crore. They built new roads and community centers for local people. Over two lakh people now have better basic village resources. Safe drinking water is now available to many rural families. These projects help the local economy grow much faster now. Better houses and roads make daily life easier for all. Hindalco aims to be a partner in building India.

Focus on Special Aspirational Districts

Total spend in special aspirational districts was over Rs 29 crore. Sonbhadra district received Rs 19.32 crore for its social growth. Singrauli district got Rs 2.39 crore for local community needs. Districts in Jharkhand received Rs 5.15 crore for various projects. Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh received exactly Rs 2.35 crore today. These districts are very important for the future of India. The company stays focused on the most underserved Indian areas. Their work brings hope to millions in these regions now.

Managing the Funds with High Care

A special committee looks after all the company’s CSR plans. Mrs. Rajashree Birla is the chairperson of this important group. They meet to decide how to spend money on people. They ensure every rupee reaches the right person in need. Independent groups check the impact of their big social projects. Most people say they are happy with the company help. Hindalco follows the rules of the Indian Companies Act strictly.

Serving the Most Vulnerable Indian Groups

All beneficiaries belong to very poor and also marginalized groups. The company works to lift the burden of rural poverty. Hindalco follows the global vision for healthy social growth now. They even help critically ill dogs and other stray animals. Over two thousand animals received medical care and rehabilitation today. Project UNLEARN helps people in prison learn about better values. They believe in being a force for good everywhere now.

Global Reach and the Novelis Neighbour Program

Novelis Neighbour is a program that helps people around the world. Their global arm helped over three million people this year. Novelis spent Rs 74.39 crore on social welfare for global communities. They focus on STEM education and also consumer recycling today. Subsidiaries like Utkal Alumina do great work in rural Odisha. Utkal Alumina won awards for its excellent public health work. They focus on maternal health and also small baby care. This group effort makes Hindalco a global leader in CSR.

Empowering Youth with New Vocational Skills

The Aditya Birla Skills Centre trains youth in many trades. They learn about computers and also many big industrial machines. These skills help them get better jobs in big companies. Vocational training closes the gap for many local unemployed youth. Hindalco is proud to help them reach their own dreams. Many students find good jobs after this excellent group training. They are the future leaders of our very great country.

Providing Healthy Meals to Many Students

A big kitchen in Lohardaga feeds twenty thousand students daily. Hindalco invested Rs 5 crore in this very modern kitchen. It provides hot and hygienic meals to many local schools. This project helps children stay healthy and study very well. Local teachers say student attendance has improved a lot now. The government provides the land and water for this kitchen. This partnership makes the lives of students much better today.

Hindalco has worked with communities for over sixty years now. Helping others is a part of the company’s DNA now. They remain dedicated to engineering a better future for India. Their social work covers twelve states across our great nation. They won many awards for their work in Indian villages. Hindalco will continue to build a better future for all.
