Energy Major Achieves 100% Budget Utilization for Eighth Straight Year, Reaching 1.36 Crore Beneficiaries Nationwide.

NEW DELHI – Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has reaffirmed its commitment to national development by recording a total Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure of Rs. 583.04 crore for the financial year 2024-25. This marks the eighth consecutive year that the company has achieved 100% utilization of its CSR budget, significantly surpassing its statutory obligation of Rs. 539.17 crore. Through more than 850 impactful projects, IndianOil’s social initiatives successfully reached over 1.36 crore beneficiaries across the country.

Strategic Focus on Health and Nutrition

In alignment with national priorities, IndianOil directed approximately 63% of its total CSR spend (Rs. 365.20 crore) toward the thematic areas of healthcare, nutrition, and the PM Internship Scheme.

  • TB Elimination: In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the company provided 249 molecular diagnostic machines and 102 handheld X-ray units in FY 2024-25, bridging critical testing gaps in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Bihar.
  • Cancer Care: The company invested ₹53.15 crore during the year to strengthen oncology infrastructure, providing advanced equipment to institutions such as the Tata Medical Center and the Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute.
  • Sickle Cell Anemia: Under “Project Chandana” in Karnataka, IndianOil facilitated over 1.95 lakh screenings for tribal populations using innovative point-of-care testing devices.

Dedicated Support for Aspirational Districts

Demonstrating a firm commitment to equitable development, IndianOil focused a significant portion of its resources on the Aspirational Districts identified by NITI Aayog. During the 2024-25 fiscal year, the company spent Rs. 61.19 crore across 53 such districts. These interventions are designed to uplift historically underserved regions by improving local healthcare, education, and basic infrastructure, ensuring that the benefits of corporate growth reach the most marginalized communities in India.

Empowering Youth and Inclusive Growth

IndianOil’s social reach extended deeply into skill development and the empowerment of marginalized groups:

  • PM Internship Scheme: Supporting national employment goals, the company enrolled 421 interns across various locations during the year.
  • Socio-Economic Inclusion: A landmark project in Delhi provided on-the-job training for 100 transgender individuals in market-relevant trades like beauty services and candle making, with 20 beneficiaries securing direct employment at a New Delhi-based company.
  • Skill Development: The company continued to fund the Skill Development Institute (SDI) in Bhubaneswar, which has trained over 15,000 youth to date with a focus on industry-aligned skills.

Fostering Excellence in Sports

IndianOil remains a “cradle of sporting talent,” supporting 212 athletes through the IndianOil Acers scholarship scheme. The company also launched “IndianOil Shakti,” which provides comprehensive training to 30 promising under-23 female athletes. Notable achievements include athlete Ankita Dhyani representing India at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Preserving Heritage and the Environment

Beyond healthcare, IndianOil invested approximately Rs. 56 crore in ecological restoration and tree plantation projects under the Green Credit Program. Significant cultural efforts included the eco-rejuvenation of five holy kunds (water bodies) in the Braj region of Mathura, spiritual landmarks currently facing severe pollution.
