UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc Limited, a global leader in zinc production and a Vedanta Group company, has been recognized among India’s Top 50 Companies with Great Managers for 2024. The recognition, presented by People Business Consulting, highlights the company’s excellence in leadership and dedication to building a high-performance, inclusive workplace.

Three managers from Hindustan Zinc have also earned a place in India’s Top 100 Great Managers list. This accolade reflects the company’s focus on fostering a culture that values growth, innovation, and employee empowerment.

1. Leadership Excellence Recognized

The Great Managers Award is a prestigious honor in the corporate world, evaluating leadership effectiveness through rigorous team feedback and expert interviews.

Arun Misra, CEO and Whole-Time Director of Hindustan Zinc, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “This recognition is a testament to our people-first philosophy. At Hindustan Zinc, we blend global stability with the agility of a start-up. Inclusivity and merit drive our success, and this acknowledgment reinforces our commitment to excellence.”

2. A Progressive and Inclusive Workplace

Hindustan Zinc has implemented policies that prioritize inclusivity and equal opportunities. Initiatives like spouse hiring, childcare sabbaticals, and flexible work hours ensure employees can balance their personal and professional lives effectively.

“Our workplace is built on the principle of inclusivity,” Misra added. “We want our employees to feel supported at every stage of their lives, and our policies reflect that commitment.”

The company’s focus on digitalization and automation has also redefined roles in the mining sector. Women now play pivotal roles in areas previously considered physically demanding, thanks to technological advancements.

Manisha Sharma, a senior manager at Hindustan Zinc, commented, “This company has given me the opportunity to excel in roles I never imagined possible. The focus on technology and inclusivity sets it apart.”

3. Investing in Talent Development

Hindustan Zinc emphasizes skill development and leadership training. Programs include technical sessions, mentoring, and behavioral workshops led by global experts. These initiatives prepare employees for future challenges and enhance their career prospects.

“Continuous learning is at the core of our strategy,” said a company spokesperson. “We want our employees to be future-ready and excel in every aspect of their work.”

4. Commitment to Sustainability

Hindustan Zinc also leads in sustainability. It was recognized as the world’s most sustainable metals and mining company by the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment in 2023.

The company’s EcoZen brand, Asia’s first low-carbon zinc product, demonstrates its innovative approach to environmental responsibility. Hindustan Zinc, which is 2.41 times Water-Positive, has pledged to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050.

“Our commitment to sustainability is unwavering,” said Misra. “We are not just meeting industry standards; we are setting them.”

5. Shaping the Future of Leadership

Hindustan Zinc’s recognition among India’s Top 50 Companies with Great Managers reinforces its leadership in fostering talent, innovation, and sustainability.

“We are not just building a company,” Misra concluded. “We are creating a community of leaders, innovators, and change-makers. This recognition motivates us to keep raising the bar for excellence.”

This achievement cements Hindustan Zinc’s role as a leader in people-centric practices, inspiring others to follow its example.
