JAIPUR (India CSR): Rajasthan, a state known for its cultural richness, is now making headlines for its transformative women-centric welfare schemes. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government has introduced groundbreaking initiatives aimed at empowering women economically, socially, and educationally. From providing mobility solutions for female students to funding self-help groups, the government is leaving no stone unturned in uplifting half of the population.

Speaking at the session ‘Every Story: Advancing Inclusive Societies’ during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, the Chief Minister said, “When women move forward, the nation moves forward. We are committed to their holistic development and empowerment.”

1. Cycles and Scooters for a Mobile and Empowered Future

One of the most talked-about initiatives is the distribution of 1,25,000 bicycles and 21,000 scooters to female students. This scheme aims to address the critical issue of mobility that often limits access to education for girls in rural and semi-urban areas.

“These cycles will bridge the gap between dreams and opportunities,” said Sharma. The cycles are targeted at school-going girls, while scooters are aimed at those pursuing higher education, ensuring they can attend classes without logistical challenges.

Parents and educators alike have welcomed the initiative. “This step will help reduce dropout rates significantly,” said Rekha, a teacher from Alwar. “It will inspire many girls to continue their education and dream big.”

3. Economic Independence through Women’s Fund Bank

The state government has also launched the Women’s Fund Bank, aimed at boosting financial independence among women. Under this scheme, Rs 100 crore in loans will be distributed to self-help groups (SHGs). These funds will enable rural women to start or expand their businesses, creating a ripple effect of economic growth.

Chief Minister Sharma remarked, “Women entrepreneurs are the backbone of our rural economy. With financial support, we aim to empower them to lead their communities toward progress.”

To celebrate the success of women entrepreneurs, the government also plans to honor one lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ who have achieved milestones in their respective fields.

4. Laado Promotion Scheme: Investing in Future Generations

The Laado Promotion Scheme, another flagship program, is designed to support the education and well-being of young girls. Under this initiative, one lakh children will receive financial assistance to continue their education. This scheme reflects the state’s long-term vision of creating a skilled and confident future generation.

Sharma emphasized, “Education is the foundation of empowerment. By supporting our daughters today, we are building a stronger Rajasthan for tomorrow.”

5. Technology and Skills for Rural Women

Recognizing the importance of technology in today’s world, the government has launched an initiative to distribute 200 Namoh Drones to women operators. This program not only introduces women to advanced technology but also creates job opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.

6. Affordable LPG Cylinders for Women’s Ease

Fulfilling a promise made in its manifesto, the state government has provided gas cylinders at Rs 450 to women across the state. On January 1, the scheme began with 20,000 women receiving affordable LPG cylinders.

“Our aim is to make women’s lives easier while reducing their dependency on traditional fuels,” said the Chief Minister.

7. Inclusive Development for All

Deputy Chief Minister Disha Kumari applauded these initiatives, stating, “Mobility, financial independence, and education are the pillars of women’s empowerment. The state is setting a benchmark for inclusive development.”

The government has also worked toward recognizing women’s contributions in various fields. Programs like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Scholarships, and rural skill development have been integrated into the larger framework of women-centric policies.

8. Voices of Inspiration: Real Stories from Rural Rajasthan

During the session, inspirational stories were shared by notable women. Social worker and traditional craft designer, Ruma Devi, narrated how she began her journey with just 10 women in Barmer and now leads a network of 50,000 women artisans. She said, “When women rise, the entire community rises with them.”

Similarly, Nimisha J. Vadhakkan, CEO of Asavare Fintech, shared how her startup empowers women through doorstep banking services. With 60% women employees, her company operates across 18 districts in Rajasthan.

9. Building a Future of Equality and Opportunity

The Chief Minister concluded with a powerful message, “Our vision is clear: a Rajasthan where every woman feels empowered to dream, achieve, and lead. These schemes are not just initiatives; they are our commitment to building an inclusive society.”

As Rajasthan implements these forward-thinking policies, it sets a precedent for other states to follow. The government’s efforts underline a simple yet profound truth: when women succeed, society thrives.
